Valgear would be nice...
@berryreading4809Ай бұрын
Sadly Valgear would probably be quite hard to bring on as a guest for any podcast (unless you have enough high end specialized military equipment to make it happen 😉) He just isn't interested in sharing personal experiences, just pure information and utility of specific items and their effectiveness/history... Instead he is truly a quiet professional, that also happens to make some of the most interesting and well done military gear content! (His now deleted Q&A's and a few other videos with details were amazing before he removed them to focus on purely reviewing interesting military hardware instead of his own experiences or similar related detailed stories 😔) But Johnathan Ferguson would certainly be a great alternative if that could happen! 🙏 Great interview! Thanks Estonian military and citizens for everything you are doing to help keep Russia inside Russia! 🇪🇪👍I wish my country wasn't so pathetic in military aid to preserve sovereign borders, even though we apparently have enough military hardware to just leave it laying around the middle east or parked in the boneyard waiting to scrap or sell on gov planet for next to nothing! 😒 So much for all our talk about protecting freedom and independence across the world 🇺🇸 😔 Do better America! (-an American)

This poor kid is interviewing far out of his league. But he kept it together and did a very good job. Especially for how new of a Soldier he is.
@berryreading4809Ай бұрын
Agreed, he did quite well! I couldn't imagine the pressure of interviewing Gun Jesus on camera! Let alone while also representing my country's military! 🫣 He did a great Job and hopefully Ian may be back sometime for another visit/ interview where even more could be discussed now that this channel's audience has a good introduction interview with Ian! Thanks Estonian military and any other civilians involved! 💪🇪🇪 Big love to Estonia from a random American! 👍
@sussurus27 күн бұрын
I think Ian's passion made it easy for him to keep the interview going and I think he was probably well aware of the interviewer's inexperience. I agree with you, though, good effort from this young man.

An Estonian magazine from 2010 mentions that in 2010 a guy named Heino Piirsalu brought two examples of the Estonian made A.T. submachine guns back to Estonia, so there should be at least one of these somewhere in Estonia that Ian could make a video about.

@@ForgottenWeapons If you haven't yet, you might want to contact or visit the Estonian War Museum in Viimsi as well(right next to Tallinn). They might have some pieces that might be interesting and be allowed to look at. If you do plan on visiting, do it so between May and October, then they have the vehicle and equipment hangar open as well.

Great interview 👍 Thanks to the Estonian government for allowing Gun Jesus to browse their military collection, and do this podcast! (Now convince him to visit again in exchange for a minimum 1-2 hour long interview! 😉) It's nice to watch one of the well deserved, very popular firearms related content creators interviewed by a variety of different interviewers 👍Next time you can have all sorts of random topics to ask him about, from favorite places while in Estonia to what his best meal was! I could listen to Ian give his opinions/thoughts on basically anything and enjoy it! 😂 I'm from the US, so I'm sure some questions had to be introductory type questions for probably a mostly Estonian viewership, who may not be familiar with Ian... But for the next potential interview the questions could be as random as the oveerseer/commanders of this channel would allow! 😉 Great job on this one👍Thanks Estonian military! 🇪🇪 💪

Tehnikamaailma ajakirja 3/2010 artiklis Eestis toodetud Arsenali püstolkuulipildujate (A.T.) kohta, mainib, et Heino Piirsalu tõi kaks A.T. püstolkuulipuldujat välismaalt Eestisse tagasi. Nii, et kusagil Eestis peaks olema vähemalt üks A.T. millest Ian saaks video teha.

I hoped more discussion about the choice of LMT over the other AR-variants. It’s a small US based company with few gov customers. Short stroke piston, sure, how about the other small differences. Or was the price most important facotr? Or was it technically superior to competitors? Also the rest local topics like modernized M14 marksman variants could have been talked more. Good guest and video anyway. 😊
@wurzel9671Ай бұрын
I suppose the LMT was probably cheaper and the MRP system seems better thought out than the 416 were you need to remove the forearm on every cleaning. Also better ambi controls, just better system overall.
@WindHaze10Ай бұрын
I've heared the reason why gas piston variant was chosen over DI was like mentioned in video - old habits, we are used to that operating system. Also HK416 was disqualifies because buttstock broke during falling tests.
@tujuprojectsАй бұрын
@@WindHaze10 HK was probably the most expensive as well.
@ForgottenWeaponsАй бұрын
I think that trying to get the absolute best rifle (or any other piece of gear) can be a dangerous goal. The difference between top brands/models is really very small, and the price difference can be quite substantial. For anyone who isn't US Delta Force, budget is a very important (if very un-sexy) consideration, and finding a rifle that meets all the objective requirements while leaving money available for everything else that that army also needs is a very sound decision. Of course one does not want to by AliExpress junk, but one also does not need the gear that drops the most ranger panties on Instagram. Get something that is solid, dependable, and effective and then focus on the individual training, the support systems, the team tactics, and the larger strategic planning to make the soldiers and the whole force the most effective. I think LMT fits that plan quite well. There will always be initial growing pains (many of the French still complain about the 416), but I think the R20 will serve the Defense Forces and the Defense League very well.
@bwateverАй бұрын
@@WindHaze10 the HK buttstock breaking is simply not true. The only reason HK wasn't chosen was because LMT was cheaper. The buttstock breaking happened on our very own R-20 during testing. Luckily that was switched out. But the original LMT R-20 buttstock was the one that broke not the HK one.
