Hot Mike! You are legendary my friend. I was at that Jump package with you when that lone jumper broke his leg in between the power lines, scary jump indeed. Just wanted to say you are one of those leaders I met in my career that made me rethink how a leader in an elite organization should carry themselves. You can still be that rough and tough guy that expects discipline and perfection while also being a humble and genuine human who acts with kindness. I’ve also never wanted to be an RRC operator more in my life than after spending a few weeks with a couple of you guys haha. Keep rolling brother, God is good.

Hey brother thanks so much for the kind words!! You just made my day. I really enjoyed training you guys more than anyone!! You MARSOC guys were very smart, fit, humble, and willing to learn! The best environment to be an instructor in.

This is one of my favorite channels. I’ve been seeking military knowledge my whole life. Read hundreds of books on weapons, military history, etc. watched countless thousands of videos. I was an 11b but admittedly I was too rebellious in nature for garrison BS. However, I am still very enthusiastic about the infantry. I feel like Mike has the most knowledge out there that has yet to be passed on and I’m here for it. God bless you Mike!

Hey Mike great video! With all the experience you’ve had with rucking it would be super beneficial if you had a rucking video where you can talk about preferred rucksacks, boots, techniques, and how to train for rucks, just an idea thanks for the kickass videos!

You’re the fucking man Mike, I’ve been dropping your name as much as humanely possible on the Sean Ryan Show platform. Hes interviews plenty of tier 1 operators but never anyone from your former SMU. Id love to see you on his show! Hopefully it becomes reality!

I almost did but we missed each other by at least a foot. those guys were probably going 160-180MPH head down and I was trying to close on them, then had to throw on the air brake to flare out and stop on level with them.

Top notch reflexes to pull that move. Also, I dig your Bible posts. I am on my own journey here as well. I am reading Jeremiah for the first time today. So far it seems…timely.

Can you talk about what it would be like for an E5 to come to the regiment and give some insight from your experience on how those guys adapt? Maybe some advice for guys wanting to come to regiment after time in big army. I know imports are generally behind the learning curve and skill level.
@RRCMikeEdwards
@RRCMikeEdwards Ай бұрын
Yeah as an import you will be behind the learning curve for sure. Coming as an E5 would be easier than trying to come at a later rank. For guys who want to learn and be humble they will be fine. If a guy wants to come in and try to change things or do things in ways that are dangerous in the Regiment it will be hard on you. I will say if you go to the regiment from the regular army you will love being there. For me it was like a dream come true and I went there as an E4 import. Even starting off behind the curve you can learn the ways quickly. It's a challenge but it's an enjoyable one.

Thank you for the video, Mike. I have a question that you might not have encountered yet. Have you ever experienced poor leadership, either militarily or politically, that put lives at risk? If so, how did you navigate and manage that risk and obstacle?
@RRCMikeEdwards
@RRCMikeEdwards 2 ай бұрын
Yeah brother I have encountered that on rare occasions. It was usually Ranger Officers or senior JSOC Officers who wanted "numbers" over quality missions. Guys would get pissed because they were risking their lives driving down IED laden roads for nothing over and over again. We are happy to go out and fight anyone anytime but let's be smart about it and not just go out to go out!

@@RRCMikeEdwards yea bro i haven’t been through that type of hazing but I’m sure they do it for a reason. But i have beat the shit out of my body through the years with all the martial art wrestling included and the motorcross, the crashing during motorcross 😂 the street fights the pits at hardcore shows god bro i can’t even remember most of the shit. But i promise there is so much more 😂😂 I hope your body is doing better than mine but I have a feeling it’s not. 😂😂 honestly though every bodies on the Navy Seals dicks but I 100% would have gone 75th Rangers bro.

Hearing how privates would be treated made me wonder how an E-5 with a CIB and a deployment to each OIF and OEF. Any experience with that?
@RRCMikeEdwards
@RRCMikeEdwards 24 күн бұрын
It does not matter honestly, new guys are treated like new guys. Having combat experience already would make it slightly easier but not that much better.

Should I let politics stop me from joining? Just seeing what's going on at the top and their agendas and knowing how they'll be directing foreign policy puts me off. Maybe if trump wins? I'm already 23 so it's now or never. You've been through it, what would you do today?
@RRCMikeEdwards
@RRCMikeEdwards 2 ай бұрын
To be honest with you I think the military does teach good discipline and skills that can be very valuable and it's worth it for that aspect of it, but only really if you make it to a SOF unit. The conventional forces just don't learn enough skills for it to be worth it. Wars are all contrived, you will be fighting fake wars no matter who is president. I did not know this until I was 75% of the way through my career then just stuck it out so I could get a pension out of it at least. Looking back would I do it again? Absolutely because it's where God wanted me to be. I do believe he can call us to places that require killing or seeing evil things. It could be setting you up for later in life. I hope this helps.
