Soffit time! So to keep things moving along, I decided to start installing the soffits on the overhangs myself.
Job from Specialty Metal Roofing has been delayed by other contracts, yet again and it's been roughly 6-7 weeks since their last efforts. As such I decided make something happen.
The soffits are from the spare garage metal building we got from Bill D. I doubt we actually have enough for all the soffits but there should be enough for the front and patio area in the back. The soffits are 1ft wide so it takes roughly 44 of them (all about 20" long) for each side of a 40ft container, and 20 pieces for the 20ft sections.
We have tons of U panels that will make up the rest of the soffits I will be putting those on the 2nd floor overhangs. That 2nd floor overhangs are roughly 44 and 36ft long.
In any case, the soffits are pretty straight forward, J flashing is put on the wall side and the outside already have the necessary J from the fascia. I
Job did state he will bring more J flashing panels (approx 20) and said he'll within 1+ weeks to start on the back 2nd floor panels. Sure hope so.
The house looks so much better with the soffits in place! Obviously more finished.
We also ordered our 30yd roll off dumpster for our pool. I could not the life of me find any used ones so we are having a new one made. It is supposed to be here July 15th. That means Job has 4 weeks to do at least the 2nd floor paneling.
Next videos will hopefully be more of the panel install, and within the month the deck and pool start! I hope to have the pool in place and functional within the 1st week we have it. I must prep the ground for the dumpster since it will simply set on a bed of road base (and sand), and potentially some concrete work as well. I will be surveying it this weekend and finding it's home. The dumpster is from Wastequip and is 22ft long, 7 ft wide, 5ft deep. It will get a custom linear and of course a deck surround.
Thanks for watching and we love the support from our family and friends.
Cheers. CYA
