I think this is one of those pieces every composer wishes they could have written. The blend of so many disparate musical characters, styles, and aesthetics is utterly flawless and comes together in something completely avant-garde and unique. The best part still is the refusal to compromise on the quality of the composition as a whole; it’s still such an absolute amazing piece. So glad to have found this again, thank you for uploading!

Noone who listens to tortured ,intentionally wordly ugly contemp music could have expected this esp. not from Gubaidulina it's like Schnittke making music for a getaway Hawaiian movie !

I can't believe it ! Just as I discover Stride and Acana from Tania Leon I discover this completelyun Russian sounding music from my heroe Gubaidulina . Her Chaconne woke me up in the late 1980's but Tania Leon ive only known about since mabe 2016!

It's missing from the recording, but the score seems to give a direction for spoken text starting at 7:09. Can anyone translate?

Алмазная роса - Diamond dew Живым огнем с - Live lights with Огнями неба в споре - Sky lights in dispute Как океан, - Like the ocean, Разверзлись небеса, - The sky [or heavens] opened up, И сплит земля- - And the earth split- И теплится, - And it glimmers, Как море. - Like the sea. Wasn't sure how to translate lines 2-4. Not sure what to make of it. It could also be fire instead of lights.
