Love it, I was born in Sofia but immigrated to another country from a young age. I went back several times as a child for summer holidays. For me, it just brings back warm memories of the parts of Sofia I knew, most of the streets I didn't recognize expect for "Vitoshka" of course, that looks towards Vitosha mountain but honestly feels like another world to me. Feels alien. I would not be able to survive in a city like this even though I speak Bulgarian at home. It is a whole different mentality there. Love seeing my home city, would love to go back. Thanks for uploading and advertising Sofia.

Nice video. Sofia has developed enormously in the last 20 years. Strangely, the downtown area has remained the same: some new pavements and lamps here and there but nothing on the scale of transformation in the southern parts of the city and the business districts.

Haters gonna hate. Lemme guess you’re not born in Sofia are you? Funny how (almost) everyone not born here is allowed to sh*t talk Sofia and people from Sofia and put everything else on a pedestal, but god forbid someone cirtisizes a place or person from ‘outside’ Sofia . I had dutch and german friends come here and they said it was their favorite Eastern European capital ( i was confused too) Sofia is totally fine for a Balkan capital. Has its minor, major and severe issues , but also nice and new places . It can’t be Paris or anything and shouldn’t try to be. Also FYI Most people complain about there being too many new buildings , but come check out some parts of Western Europe where they don’t build enough and there’s a housing crisis. The only major major issue is cars which yeah idk why everyone living 10 min from the centre decided to have 4 cars, my family doesn’t and i use public transport

A pseudo-European city - dirty, messy, robbed, with disgusting infrastructure and insane construction, lazy and an extremely corrupt administration, and last but not least, overcrowded because in the countryside people find it difficult to find work or work for ridiculous money. For all this, as well as for the flourishing state of the country, we can thank our extremely "capable" politicians. I want to tell you that there is no politician convicted of corruption or abuse in Bulgaria. Some time ago they tried to prosecute a former mayor of Sofia, but he ran for office and became a member of parliament and received immunity... Complete circus!
