I've been using the sc32 for edc for 3 months now. I really like it. So much, i ordered another one.

I use it on night shifts and mine looks pretty worn down. It works great, must be the best budget EDC ever. I will compare it against a SC31TPRO soon which follows a different, tactical, design approach. The SC32 is really a great package, I hope they continue to refine it.

Holy crap I didn't know the trick about using the head without the battery. That's so neat!

Yeah, it can save the day because a 18650 can fail or you might want to use the light first in a room with power supply and right after take it outdoors with a full battery. Plus the USB-C-cable really holds firm in this one, so a stable although not waterproof connection is guranteed while moving and having it on a powerbank. I have a 20000mah powerbank on my backpack and a cable going to the front over the right shoulder strap. In theory I can run the light while connected to that powerbank. It gives you a ton of options. Note that some USB-C cables are bulky (i.e. the ones with aluminum connectors) and might not squeeze in the port but most do.

Finally a compact tail switch (that's isn't a stupid switch) high cri, high output ATR, USB C, Luminous equipped with a lens body that sleek with the cell body. Impressive. If only rhey could implement anduril 2 into it!

It feels like a stripped down Anduril, like with only the baby functions and no way to mess things up :-) It truly is a great light. If they had a version with 3000-4000K I would by it right away. If you like the Anduril 2.0, a E-switch, superb color rendition and compact size you might be interested in the Wurkkos TS10: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYOYk4FqfdmKpcU The light is limited by the 14500 cell though.

It's not High CRI.

@@filibustero9316 true. It is not advertised as such either. I does render colors outdoor well enough (Sofirn always did well with their selection of LEDs) but there are much better options. I recently reviewed a Wurkkos TS10 multi emitter light in 4000K: Great light quality.

@@filibustero9316 yep. Just learned something. CRI isn't based on Kelvin. Though it does seem all of my high CRI flashlights appear to be about the same Kelvin. Well I guess it's not high CRI lights I'm fond of but more just the color of the light not the colors the light renders. Like 5,000K lights work so much better when mountain biking fast at night than like a 6500 light. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Holy smoke! What a sexy little thing! It's crazy how compact it is in combination with the high output and very nice combination of all in one throwing and flooding! Also the "head off"-option and the compact tailswitch is very cool and useful! Gorgeous! And again a great review and presentation, thank you buddy! 👍👍👍

I have this light, been using it edc for the last 2-3 months. its a nice light, but I find it warming my leg pretty often with that tailswitch being accidentally activated. Another thing im unsure of is battery life indicator, mine only ever slow blinks red, have never seen the green led..perhaps I got a damaged cell? EDIT- You can also change modes on the light by clicking tailswitch 4x rapidly to go between ramping UI and low-mid-high long press UI.

Correct, I share the same observations. Electronic lockout helps and so does a rotational holster on the job. The battery indicator light is always unreliable. Charge externally if you want to make sure, it often gets stuck on red blinking otherwise :-/
@Nathan-uo9yf
@Nathan-uo9yf Жыл бұрын
@@wearandtear6692 gotcha gotcha, I threw a fresh cell in off the external charger and she was green. I’ll just be externally charging as I’m not real confident in onboard charging in general, though I’ve not had any issues from it, aside from the battery indicator.
@wearandtear6692
@wearandtear6692 Жыл бұрын
@@Nathan-uo9yf Hi there, it is really just the indicator light that spazzes out. Basically a external charging cycle resets that. Honestly, for me those indicator lights are not a great help. If they went like 100-60% green, 60-30% yellow, 30-20% red and after that red blinking - that would be fine. But the way it is - green all the way down to 30% I assume - is not very useful. I work night shifts and starting with a "green" light that only is at 50% may mean that I have to switch cells.

could you use two CR123a batteries instead of the 18650?
@wearandtear6692
@wearandtear6692 Жыл бұрын
no, strictly not. This feature is almost exclusive to professional tactical lights, i.e. Armytek, Surfire, perhaps some Fenix models and so on.

What is the difference between TIR and Fresnel? And which of these do you prefer SST 40 vs XHP70?
@wearandtear6692
@wearandtear6692 Жыл бұрын
A fresnel lens is a TIR lens but very flat. TIRs without a fresnel pattern are more common and shape the beam well just use more space.

Having used it myself, I must say, it would be pretty much perfect, if not for the fact that it heats up and thus throttles down extremely quickly, we are talking like 30s on turbo and about a minute on high. Since i wanted to use it as a light for my bike, were I do use it for longer periods of time, this was unfortunately a deal breaker, especially that it still throttles on high. Otherwise, awesome little light.

I share your observations. I run it for long periods of time during my night shifts. At 30-50% it runs very efficient. A very high power bike lamp it is not. I would go with a (2×) 21700 or 26650 type light to get long runtimes and 2000+ lumens output.

Can someone explain the difference between the 5000-5300k version and the 6000-6500k? Which one is cool white and which one is the warmer one? Thanks

Hey mate, you got another new subscriber here :) I just meant to ask: I charge the Sofirn with the USB cable and then unplug it when the light indicator is green -fully charged. Then, when I turn it on and then off after a while, the same indicator goes immediately red. Any idea as to how? Did the batt not charge properly? Many thanks in advance!

Hi, welcome! What you describe is a bug that I know from a couple Sofirn/Wurkkos lights including the SC32. The cell is charged properly but the indicator light indicates only confusion ;-) Restarting the light (removing the cell) helps often.

@@buzonperiodista Their battery indicators are not the most useful even if they work. However, I just charge them after 3x night shifts and that typically is perfect. I always have spare 18650ies around anyways!
