That's an interesting combo for the convoy. The m21e with an xhp70. When I think of convoy and an xhp70 I think of a m26c m21d or m3-c. Then of course the bigger l7 and l21a. Sofirn has the infamous sp70. That is a straight up nice light for sure. The sofirn sp33s does use a high cri xhp70 and it also functions as a power bank. I wish convoy had that high CRI option. The convoy m3-c is a really good light. It functions as a power bank too and there is a 26800 tube extension available. Cheers brother thanks for the video. I like this comparison. Thank you. When I ordered the sft40 version I seen they had the xhp70 also and couldn't pass it up, it is a really nice flood with great throw, I'm happy with it I will do some serious outdoor tests and see how it holds up

I got the Pioneman K45-C which I think is the same as the Convoy M21E. One of the better purchases I had. Really useful flood light. Really nice even beam. It doesn't heat up quickly as well.

Check out the IF22A if you haven't already it's one of there most popular lights but for the most part all sofirns are great buys alot of light for a budget price

Hello Smothered Chrome! Could you comment on which Convoy flashlight you like more (while using the same emitter), the M21E or the M21F? I'm mostly interested in which has better thermal regulation (or which can run the longest on high output before dropping due to thermals) and which one has better throw between the two due to reflector design. Based on physical dimensions alone the M21E may edge out the M21F, but the M21F with a smaller head seems to have better cooling fins. Perhaps both are too close to call, I'm not sure? I do not have a light yet with a GT FC40 emitter and been thinking about buying one at 5000K, because of its decent CRI rating, in either the M21E or M21F body. This comparison would help me make a decision on which route to go. Thanks in advance if you decide to do this comparison. BTW I love all of your reviews!

Thank you Poly I appreciate your support my friend 🙏 I do not have the M21F yet it's on my to get list and I was going to try out fc40 on my next order I've heard good CRI on it also. The m21e with sft40 is a nice light IMHO it throws almost 900m for it's size it impressed me.

@@smotheredchrome Yes, the SFT40 emitter is an excellent thrower and the M21E with a SFT40 is a good one! I have a Convoy MAO M21B on its way with a SFT40 and an 8 amp driver which should be close in function to the M21E, although I believe the M21E has a bit more throw because of the larger reflector size and better thermals due to the larger head size. Like yourself, I have the L21B with the SFT40 emitter and it satisfies my desire for a good thrower and thought it might be fun to check out the characteristics of a type of emitter I don't own. The FC 40 comes in lots of tints, has good CRI, and is fairly efficient when it comes to extending battery life so thought I'd give it a try. My favorite tint is 5700K but I like 5000K on the low side and also don't mind 6500K on the high side. I'm not much into the yellowish orange tints from 4000K down.

I definitely understand my friend, I'm definitely picking up a fc40 led just trying to figure what host I want to go with, I understand it's not a super bright emitter so a small host should be fine unless it over heats than a bigger host makes sense.

@@smotheredchrome Right, the heat generated from the FC40 will be less and won't require more mass in the head design to stay cool. An M21B body should be sufficient but I decided to go with a Convoy M21E or M21F anyway to get more throw due to the larger reflector size.
