I really like the theory of colour seasons, but for me it's more like a hint than like a strict rule - it confirmed why I look good in certain colours and why other ones make me look sick (and that I don't look as good in certain makeups just because they are not harmonious with me and not because I'm ugly). So it's good to know, but I would never want that to limit me in any way. However, I have noticed that I naturally gravitate towards my season's colours (even before I even knew my season) and so do many other people. And the idea for this series is awesome, I'm really curious about your winter-y make-ups (as I'm a winter myself and I often feel that there's nothing better for me than a red lip and black eyeliner, but that gets kind of boring sometimes) 💙🩵💙

And my dog is an autumn as well 💜 but more of a true/soft one, I think.

Yes, it's definitely more like a hint! And it can be so fun to find a colour palette that matches one's vibe too! Winter makeup is next... I'm excited!

Love this idea!!! To this day I struggle knowing where I land, of course I want to use shades that shine rather than dull my features but I really have a hard time stepping back and seeing things as they are. And the black thing has always blown my mind too! I appreciate the flexibility mindset.

It honestly can get so confusing! I think the easiest place to start is discovering colours you don’t like and just avoiding those. I’m excited to continue the journey and see how “bad” some colours can actually look!

You gave me a makeup look to do on my eyes using the My Dream palette! I haven’t used it in awhile because I thought it didn’t look good on me. Would soft autumn work with Retro palette, too?

Lovely video! I’m all for freedom of using what makes you feel amazing, no judgement. I like these as suggestions for colour combinations, but thats’s about it. Some shades do look a bit weird on me because I have olive undertones, that pull some colours into a weird muddy non-flattering range, but I don’t stay away from many colours - and I don’t like seeing myself with some colours that theoretically are the ones that should flatter my skin tone the most 😅 and colours that work on me clothes-wise may not look great makeup-wise and vice versa.

Your little dog looking his best in dark autumn colors is the best 🥹 I am a true autumn I think. I love some of the colors in that palette and they feel like my power colors but I also agree so much that intentionally wearing colors that make you feel good or powerful or whatever is what’s most important. Black is one of the “worst” colors for autumns apparently but I love wearing it.

One of the color analysis accounts I follow says that your natural hair color isn't always best. I've been looking at it a lot recently too and I'm getting a professional analysis today.

I agree that color seasons aren't that relevant when it comes to makeup enthusiasts. I don't wear foundation at all and only infrequently wear concealer, but I still feel like I can make any color work on me. There are some lip and cheek shades (any muted warmtones) that look strange on me if I only wear lipstick and/or blush, but with the right eye look they look fine. Certain colors just give a different vibe and enhance different features. When I wear no makeup, I can definitely see the difference between my worst and best colors (every website or analyst has a different color palette of best and worst shades for each season tho'). I'm excited to see the rest of this series!
@evangelinemolly10 ай бұрын
Oooh you're lucky you don't need to wear foundation! Totally agree about how the combination of colours can change if one can pull it off or not! It's why I usually end up fussing over the lip shade at the end.
@agingophelia981210 ай бұрын
Absolutely, anyone trying to use the season's theory has to take it with a grain of salt-- the original books virtually ignore skin undertones, ignored that cool browns/peaches and warm greens exist, and a host of other problems. I've found that b/c of a drop of olive undertone in my really pale skin, I can look great in any haircolor; I really have tried them all, and every time I change that, there's new makeup/clothes colors that look better on me than they did before. You are fantastic with that rich auburn hair, I wonder if you've ever tried a copper penny color. & Yes, everyone looks good in black, and that's not just my born-in-NY-state prejudice.
@evangelinemolly10 ай бұрын
A grain of salt is right! It’s fun as a reference point but colours can be so flexible. Lol the NY state prejudice 😂

This look is just lovely, and I love this experiment! I absolutely agree that make-up allows you to be more of a chameleon with what colors you wear, and I often get a little oppositional with my personal color choices, especially because I tend to medicate myself with color. It really can be such a mood lift, and I am a huge fan of bold colorful prints in my clothing. I'm excited to see the rest of the series!

Hello from Italy! I don't write well in English but I wanted to tell you that it's a nice idea to show the make-up of the different seasons. I'm really Soft Autumn. In my opinion you are a Summer because you have light eyes and a light undertone. really cold skin. And your real hair is dark blonde, isn't it?🙂
@evangelinemolly8 ай бұрын
Soft Autumn colours are so pretty! I’m almost done all the seasons. 3 more to go! Yes, I’m naturally blonde. I’m not sure about summer though since if you see my skin in person, in natural light, there’s a lot of yellow to it and neutral foundations look a bit pink sometimes. 🤷♀️ That’s the whole thing I’m finding about the seasons though, sometimes it seems a bit subjective even!
