Love your work brother! I should do some bathroom recording for my channel, that's good stuff. And I gotta know, how do I get subs like you've got? I've been at less than 300 for over a year and it's a little disheartening when I put so much work into making my music and the videos. Keep it up brother, you have real talent.

Thanks man! I'll have to check out your channel sometime. I've been uploading videos since 2009 so it has taken a long time to even gain a few thousands subscribers. I was lucky enough to have a few of my older videos go viral (to some degree at least), so I'm sure that helped a lot. Other than that, just have to advertise and direct people to your channel, and try to keep uploading on a regular basis. I started off covering songs that not many people had covered before, at least at that time. So I found a niche of sorts I suppose. I've spent quite a few years as a music promoter and festival organizer so I've learned a few things along the way about marketing music. Always happy to share what I've learned 🙂

@@DDball I've been a professional musician for 30 years, so my career started long before KZbin or even the internet as we know it was around, so despite having a literal lifetime of experience in music this KZbin thing is all new to me. Thanks for the advice brother, I appreciate it.

@@jobygrantlandsnvrwntrmusic No problem. Yeah, definitely a different ballgame online. But in a way, it behaves similarly to the non-virtual world of performance. If people aren't seeing your videos, they won't know about you. In order to get them seen, you have to understand how the algorithm works, as well as the online tools for promoting your music through other sources and directing people to your KZbin channel. Otherwise, it's very easy for each video upload to get lost in the sea of content on KZbin. It's even harder these days for independent musicians, because there are more than ever. If you upload on a semi-regular basis, you will have a better chance of gaining more subscribers. It's also very important to respond to any comments you may receive, because that increases the "engagement" of the content, and makes it more likely to be seen by others. There's a lot to it, but there are definitely a lot of helpful resources on KZbin that can tell you a lot more tips and tricks. I just kind of got a bit lucky I guess, and was in the right place at the right time. These days, I don't get nearly as many views as I used to, but then again, I'm uploading videos at random times when I have spare time, rather than regularly. So I don't get that algorithm boost anymore. Anyway, good luck with everything, I'll check your channel out next time I have a moment.
