His voice wonders and echos thoughts from Peter Murphy, to Ian Curtis, to a very Robert Smith when he drives it high. Such a great voice, and they way he uses his range in a way that, to me, provide such a tapestry of sound. The band's sound is exactly what I like from post-punk, mixed with some real shoegaze guitar influence. I really love what this band does. What's hilarious, and something I fully respect, is that every band mate totally looks like an ass-kicker from Boston's infamous Charlestown neighborhood. It makes me love the total of the thing that much more. It's a hell of a tapestry of great and contrasting things, musically and otherwise. I hope they achieve all of the things they deserve or hope for from doing this. Choke (51:17) is such a wonderful, painful, and much loved song for me. I would thank each of them personally for that song if had the opportunity (or ever get an opportunity) to do so.

Drum tracks without cymbals, I will have to give that a listen. I know when Slayer recorded "Show No Mercy", the producer had the drummer do a second track where he hit his cymbals to his pre recorded drum track. Reason being, the producer said it will give the cymbals pronounced clarity. I am a drummer, so listening to drum tracks without cymbals is wierd to me. That being said, this band is awesome!
