I’m a SN and I like a top w a high neckline that I have too, same style as your leopard top. Maybe it looks good bc your shoulders are showing? I dunno I always get compliments when I wear that one. I think SN’s have nice shoulders. 😍

Nice! After editing this video I was looking at it and put it back in my closet haha I’m joining you in the shoulder representation from now on

Actually concerning what season of color you are, you might be a soft summer. The color of that bluish wrapped sweater looked so good on you :) I myself thought I was a winter type bc of my dark hair but the contrast was too much for my light skin tone. Similarly I think black is a bit harsh for you. Summer means cool undertones (silver looks good, lips more purple than orange) and complex colors rather than clear ones (for me the hint was that gray suits me better than black, but also my eyes and hair have a more mixed than clear color to them). Summer turns into soft summer if your features are dark for a summer type. Good colors are kind of mixed or complex rather than clear with a cool undertone and somewhere in the middle between very light and very dark. Anyway enough rambling, this is the video I found super helpful on this: by Body and Style "if you have these features, this is your color season". Love your videos on soft natural looks, just found you today and am immediately binging all of them xD

I'm constantly doing the 'high maintenance clothes' declutter...all the photogenic stuff thats more like art, I fall in love with on a hanger, and want to be part of my identity somehow, but only look good in one specific position that I've crafted in the mirror for an hour. I'm trying to reverse the process from 'what do I want' to starting at 'what do I wear most often', then just searching for good variations of those pieces. And figuring out what qualities are repeated dealbreakers, like 'shirts that end past the hips' or 'thin spandexy fabrics' or whatever. Also getting things tailored! Bodies are so different it makes sense that most clothes don't fit us right. (Plus tailors can give like this very beautiful sense of old world community, like having your milkman or butcher or something. Highly recommend, lots of places can take your measurements and keep em on file so you can just drop off stuff with instructions) Also hard yes to a high neckline on you...soo stunning (and the best feeling for my linebacker shoulders, I'm always like wow whole new world out here)

This is such great advice! I’m definitely with you on the owning a bunch of things that I could never feasibly wear in public. I agree about tailoring (and the community aspect!) I wish I had found it earlier in life instead of beating myself up for not fitting clothes perfectly. I’m glad this resonated with you and thank you about the high neckline haha ive decided to keep that shirt ;) If you’re looking for a great minimal but quality clothes focused channel Naja Sierra is fantastic!

You’ve gotten a few dresses that were inspired by realisation par dresses, they’re kinda expensive but there’s a ton of second hand shops like poshmark that sell them

I love try ons! I’m a FN it makes me more aware of body lines. I’m a black woman who is a Jewel Winter.I got color Analysis by a House of colour stylist . Which is weird the color theory conflicts with Kibbie lines (recommends high contrast, high saturation), but in Kibbie I look better with unbroken or nonspecific vertical lines. I prefer softer colors when I wear separates. And like bold vivid bright clear colors with midi/ maxi dresses because they have an obvious vertical. I blend the two

Thank you so much for sharing! Would you say it was worth it to get a color analysis done? I've heard a lot about House of Colors but really want to be certain before spending you know?
@wifebaehusbae1927 Жыл бұрын
@@welltrying It was well worth it to me as a tool in my bag of tricks. I already have experience as a stylist, but found many systems lumped many people of color together and didnt allow for as much variability. Seeing the in person analysis really taught me what parts of the systems were effective for me and to really understand how to dress more impactfully with color in certain instances. In my opinion, I always say the deper the skin the more "tolerance" you have to color, so most colors and tones look decent. I'll never really look "washed out or sickly" like some of my fairer skin friends may experience, but It did help me find my "wow" colors so I can choose my purchases in the future that are more costly in my best colors and combine outfits with more than just intuition. Hope this helps.

For SN kibbe recommends not having much detail around the face & in general SN have a more minimal detail look than other types, aiming for a "simple" look with smaller amounts of it thrown in but look off with none unlike a classic. Busy prints and fit have an inverse relationship, in that the busier the print (like your leopard print top) the looser the fit should be, the ruching in the middle of the top is also adding a lot of detail ontop of a busy print, that along with the print being near your face due to the high neck may be what's throwing you off about the leopard print top

I'm getting rid of my clothes too but I'm going to make my own clothes now. My arms got big from working out and nothing quite fits me well. Should be fun! Love your channel because I haven't seen much Soft Natural content 😊

Aw guess it's too late but the red one could've been fixed with some simple tailoring maybe like a few snaps. Or wearing it over a very simple slip dress that fills in some gaps, or sewing in a bit of some underlayer fabric though that may be too layered a look for your taste. Other thoughts: I like the dotty prints on you (if they feel like you) like this red one and the black dotty one in another video. That first blue is gorgeous!! Sucks about the cheap, wrinkly fabric. I'm thinking you may be bright and cool hence why the earthy, soft, warm didn't feel like you. I'm the same way about wanting to just put something on and then be super comfy and forget about it, not having to fiddle with it. The leopard top lines and purple top lines are to me awesome on you; but I hear ya if a print or fit or feel is just not feeling "you" it just isn't.

omg hehe :)) I had the same red dress like yours!!! the second one you showed in the video, I believe I am also a SN, I just decluttered it at the beginning of this summer (I own it for a few years). I loved the cut so much and how it looked on me, the pattern not that much though :D

I have a green cardigan sweater like your white one, exact style, from Loft on clearance. I loved it at first but then I realized it’s too bulky on me, plus a guy who’s a friend said I look like an avocado in it, so I should probly get rid of my cardigan too. 😂

I think slinkier arms will be better for you. More fitted around the arms, and you look good with v necks. I would have a v neck that not so deep. I believe white tight turtleneck would be amazing on you. I would say anything fitted looks amazing on you.

I think you’re either a bright spring or bright winter. F that’s your natural hair color I think you’re a spring but bright seems to be your main attribute.

Hi, thanks for your feedback. It’s not my natural color but I do have my natural color now and I’m pretty sure I’m a spring and have just been doing my makeup wrong for 20+ years haha Thanks for watching!

@@welltrying I highly suggest color analysis. It makes your wardrobe cohesive because the colors are all the same value, hue, and intensity. Everything goes and it makes it easier to buy high quality knowing it’s perfect for you. You are so beautiful that with color analysis in your wheelhouse you will drop jaws at every turn. You can’t unsee it when you do it. That’s for sure. It’s mind blowing.
