I just made this recipe and it was amazing!! I added a little Old Bay and served it over grits and drizzled some of the juice over the top! Can't wait to try this with shrimp too!

Larry, I skipped ahead of 15 other videos I should watch because I just HAD to see this recipe! Ms. Lulu and I are crazy about soft shell crabs! We have planned vacations around them, Virginia Beach, Myrtle Beach, and New Orleans! The only food that rivals them are New England tender sweet fried clams! I might have to order these to be shipped to me... but I can imagine how expensive the are. Thanks so much for the simple, succulent soft-shell crab recipe my friend! It knocked my socks off!!!
@TheWolfePit8 жыл бұрын
Thank you John and I couldn't agree more about the sweet whole belly New England fried clams, so delicious! I work with Harbour House Crabs and have a promo code if you want to order some online You can get them shipped to your front door, just like these were to me! www.ilovecrabs.com/soft-shell-crabs/soft-shell-crabs-jumbo.html Use the code WP12 in the promo code for $12 off your first order if you decide to place one!! Soft shell crabs are expensive no matter where you get them unless you live on the Eastern Shore.

Excellent recipe! One variation on this is to flour egg, breadcrumb the crabs first, they pick up more of the amazing taste of the sauce this way.

My favorite sea food ever. I always looked forward to eating them whenever I was in Virginia or Maryland. Now, you can get them all over. As the years went by, I slowly developed an allergy to the iodine found in the soft carapace and the last time I had them, I swelled up like Howard Wallowitz when he ate peanuts. So, I have happy memories and envy anyone who makes and eats this marvelous recipe!😋. Sigh

You literally made me laugh out loud about Howards allergy to peanuts!! LOL My wife is also allergic to most seafood, she can eat fish but that's it. Thanks for watching Colin!

A friend gave me some soft shell blue crabs yesterday, and I needed a recipe. I should have known you'd have one! The only way I've had them before is breaded or tempura, and since I eat low carb these days, that wouldn't work. Thank you!

+TheWolfePit .......I know exactly what you mean! Just a few weeks ago I was craving some shrimp, so I go to Publix and found that the shrimp they had was frozen from Indonesia!! I politely passed!!! Larry, no soft shell crabs around this neck of the woods! I'm envious that is for sure. We actually had crab tonight for dinner but it was frozen parts from parts unknown. It was "good". I've never had softshell crab. Dorothy has, in restaurants and enjoyed it but it was always breaded and deep fried. Your version looks wonderful. I hope to try that one day.

Wish my Dad was still around I'd try that recipe just so he'd complain, "you know damn well we don't put no fancy wine and lemon and green stuff on our crabs what the hell is wrong with you?" pan-fried in oil til' almost black and served on wonder bread is the only way to eat soft shell crabs, as God intended. looks great to me though, love the channel ohh, and for those that have moved from Maryland eastern shore far far from crabs the afore mentioned Harbour House will be happy to air-mail you some. steamed or soft shell however you want them. not cheap but not like you do it every day. ask them to send some J.O. seasoning along too.
