Couple of quick tips my Brother. You don't have to dilute the Chem the X-Jet at full strength is pulling about a .6-..7 mixture with the GPM of your machine. Use a surfactant, it holds the chem to the siding longer and helps the windows to clean up nice also apply from bottom up and rinse from top down. Good luck!
@lukeraglin
@lukeraglin 7 ай бұрын
Appreciate it man, been using a surfactant the past couple weeks definitely helps a lot
@TheIvies04

Keep diluting the Chem. Your ratio is a 1.6-1 with the XJet wide open. Which would be about a 7% with 12.5 SH. It's easy to look up the chart and see the ratios
@lukeraglin
@lukeraglin 7 ай бұрын
@TheIvies04 yessir I always dilute it. Straight sh on the x jet can damage the siding, always try to get a good 1.5% or so

It is starting to bother me how few people know how to use ratios. You must add all parts of the ratio together to get a correct answer. To know your dilution for the xjet, divide sh% by the total parts. Ex. You have a 2/1 ration. 10%sh÷3= 3.33% concentration coming from the gun.
@chrisapollonio
@chrisapollonio 23 күн бұрын
That would be a 3.33% ratio in the bucket, not accounting for the water coming out of the gun…? Or am I missing something?
@mitchward1978
@mitchward1978 21 күн бұрын
@chrisapollonio that is if you are using an xjet. I use a container with straight bleach and soap. 10%bleach in bucket then mixes at the want tip at what ever ratio tip you use. If not using an xjet, you gotta figure out what your specific machine ratio is by running a test

The biggest question I got is what do you guys do about the water spots in the windows. If using the customers water. I come from detailing cars with deonized water . Getting into pressure washing homes. And I worry about the water spots on the window. If I use in treated water.
@lukeraglin
@lukeraglin Ай бұрын
I always try to up sell my house washes with water fed pole window cleaning. Or regular traditional window cleaning. I have a deionization system so I can clean the windows after a house wash and it leaves no spots. What you can do if you’re not going to clean the windows is use a surfactant in your house wash mix and that’ll help clean the windows. It’s almost impossible to not leave spots so always make sure to let the customer know that for a spot free result, window cleaning will have to follow

To all those breaking into the game with small pressure washers, do not leave the machine running without water coming out of the gun. If you do, the water will heat up and destroy your pump. And remember GPM is better than high pressure and low GPM
@lukeraglin
@lukeraglin 2 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment man, you’re exactly right, leaving your washer on without using it can really damage the pump. In this video I had a 2.6 gpm but upgraded back in March to a 4.2 gpm. Much more flow. Also have a ball valve, so when I know I’ll be off the trigger, I’ll open up that ball valve and just put it in some grass to let the water flow

2.5 gallons of bleach to 2.5 gallons of water gives you 2% in a 5 gallon bucket. How much does the ratio change with the xjet just curious. I know to achieve a 2% on a downstream you have to fill the whole 5 gallons with bleach. That’s assuming your injector is a 4 to 1.
@mitchward1978
@mitchward1978 3 ай бұрын
Hey, you can just divide the % mixture by the total ratio parts. So,2% divided by 5 is.4% mix coming out. I've called xjet in the past to confirm and get their conversion formula. All the best!

Hello from Winnipeg, Canada. Good job Luke. An even better option is to google search "chemical manufacturers in my area", and source it straight from them. Univar is the biggest Chem supplier & manufacturer company in North America, so they'll likely be in most major cities. I get 25 and 55 gal drums of 12.5 % SH starting at $150(25gal). They'll have a deposit you'll have to pay for the drum.for the 25gal drums it's a $90 deposit. Some Chem companies will let you bring your own drum/tote to fill at their facility. I also buy my sodium hydroxide, sodium percarbonate, and oxilic acid from the same place by the 50lb bag. Waaaay cheaper in the long run than anywhere else to go straight to the source and buy bulk. ✌🏼 Good luck dudes

I use an xjet as well. You turned the nozzle multiple times which changes the amount of pressure provided. The twist nozzle is supposed to replace traditional rinsing nozzles ( yellow, white tip, all the way to the hazardous red tip) you went from a 65 degree to a damn near 5 degree tip multiple times on a single story building. Don’t know why you kept rubbing the siding too. Other than that good job I do the same thing where I put the xjet hose back in the bucket on rinse mode so it doesn’t leak out. I am planning on buying a 4 gpm and downstream injector by April. As great as the xjet is the sad reality is you need more than that to properly wash houses in a timely fashion and there’s a reason why all the big company’s downstream. You said your pressure washers only 2.5 that doesn’t matter 3000 psi can easily do damage using the wrong tips. If you buy the “downstreaming nozzle it allows you to put sh up high at low pressure. It’s a totally different nozzle. No hate just want to let you know what I’ve learned.

@@2ozOzI ordered my bucket on a belt from Amazon and most of my squeegees are from Lowe’s or Window Cleaning Resource .com I would buy from them. And I try to make at least $100 an hour, so this job I posted took me about 3 hrs and I charged $335.

Quick question, why do you wet the siding before you spray your chem? doesn't that just make the chem less effected because its diluting with the water you just sprayed?
@lukeraglin
@lukeraglin 6 ай бұрын
Great question, I wet it down because I live in South Texas, and it gets super hot quick which can dry the chemical faster. I’ve learned that wetting down the siding first just helps with it not drying as fast and gives me assurance that I won’t damage any paint

@@lukeraglin can’t spend the $10 on a downstream? More convenient?? The set up wack, your process.. trash… your highly inefficient. I about through up watching this. If your carrying around a 5g bucket for a vinyl wash your a rookie.

@jordanarambula man, setup and process all aside, I really feel bad that you feel the need to comment on my video to express your anger, that’s some personal issues you have to deal with, take care man hope you can figure it out.

I found this pretty helpful man. Pretty efficient if you ask me. X jet can work in most scenarios as far as I can tell. Sad that people take their aggression out on people for doing honest work and working hard.
