Regarding Outfield positioning, it seems to makes sense that the right and left fielders would shade toward the lines a little. The reason is that a ball in the gaps will be covered by both players in half the time but a ball down the line is only covered by one player to cover the same distance.

Hey I'm from Germany and I really don't know much about Softball. (But I'd like to). My Question is: Shouldn't you also move your players regarding if the batter is a leftie for example? Doesn't the Right Outfielder have to go a bit in the direction of the foul line? Or do they only do that in Germany, because our batters aren't really good enough to decide where to hit the ball? Thanks for answering and Greetings from Germany

This should depend on the speed of the pitching the batters are facing and the skill level of the batters. Faster the pitcher is the more likely the batter will not be able to pull the ball. Highly skilled pitchers will be able to hit outside corners and almost most of the time a batter will not be able to pull the ball either.
