Hmmm Conventional wisdom. To me there's something to be said for dancing to your own drummer. What I liked was you showed how to get yourself out of trouble, fix it and still come out with what you wanted. Because newbies (especially) may have issues and you helped them re-adjust . I LIKED it ; )

In 1982 I designed and sold the first Christmas Spiders and sold 7 of them at a consignment shop here in York County, Pennsylvania. At first, when my spiders started appearing the next year produced by a local church I was really mad. I was young, and didn't realize the Christmas Spider was bigger than I would ever be. I"m glad to see it has grown, just wish I could get some credit. The first ones were made with wire, two large pearls, a smaller one for the head, and I painted a mouth and eyes with black and red and had beads on the ends of the feet. There was also a clear string out the back to hang it. There was also a small rolled up story that came with the spider. Thanks to everyone who have helped to make the Christmas Spider what it is today.

Even my Grandmother had a Christmas spider! She has passed and it's now mine- and I'm almost 70. Think of all the income you help all those crafters make! Thank you!💝🙏💝

Conventional wisdom in most crafts and trades is measure twice and cut once. It would have saved you a lot of trouble.

What wire did you use

I used the Soft Flex brand Craft wire in 24 guage non tarnish silver. I hope that helps! ~James

Ironically, you chose to make the second leg the shortest. With most spiders, the second leg is the longest. But most spiders are not made of wire and glass sooo.

Nice to see someone making a mistake. You redeemed yourself well. I am not always successful in doing so. Liked your video. I belong to fiddlers anonymous. Oops.
