It amazes me how well you time your videos…this one gets published 4 days before my first interview. That’s a nice coincidence and I thanks you for that.

@@kareemnajjar789 Hi Kareem. I think it went well- I passed the technical interview and am now waiting for the result of a homework, a project they use to evaluate my ability to work with a codebase I didn't see before. I have a call with the HR department in a few minutes, so I believe this is a good sign!

Anyone knows if there is any website that has take-home project exercises for practicing?

If only I had watched this playlist before my interview. I completed a take-home project and was invited to the interview only to find out that I couldn't remember the fundamental concepts 😢

Hi I have completed your iOS Devlaunchpad course can I take your take home project as my next course ...
@seanallen2 жыл бұрын
There's a bit of a knowledge jump between the two. The good news is that once you own the course, you have lifetime access, so you can always revisit if it's too much.

Don't be a sucker. Stay clear of any job interview requiring you to take home a project! There's a lot unethical folks trying to get free work under the auspices of assessing your skills. I've come across numerous repeatedly posted Stack Overflow jobs who have no intention of hiring.

I would say it depends on the take home project itself. I’ve come across take home projects where they told me it would take around 20-24 hours to complete, obviously a red flag. But I’ve had other take home projects where it would only take 1-2 hours to complete. Use your best judgement, and honestly it’s not impossible to sniff out the scammers.

@@fierce2410 Some of these douchebags are really smart and know how to finagle a bagel. Facebook is perhaps the worst. They have programming "contests" where you're given a small, but super hard question. If they like your answer, they'll bring you in for an interview, but in reality they're really fishing for free work. There's tons of people who would love to work for Facebook and are more than eager to participate.

It's easy to spot a "fake" take home project. Legit take home projects are simple.
