FYI... Many times its possible to automatically identify the unknown signals that your seeing on the Panadapter. Just hit the "SWL Search" button (top line of the Console screen). Not only can you identify, but you can search for specific SWL stations, like "Radio Habana"

Hi Julian, Once bought a Icom IC 7200 for half of market value in 2014. Kind of expected it to not work all that well and when it arrived sure, when driving it more than 30% of power it would drop off. Long story short, was playing with it during Covid and was holding on to the fuse in the wire and realized the fuse was arcing. New fuse holders and Boom running 100w all day!

Score! I’ve taken to passing over faulty units with my thermal camera to find faulty parts. Not sure I would have suspected the fuse holder, will now!

What you're describing exist right now for receive audio. rx.linkfanel.net/ - For Transmit, one could grant access to folks and even route their mic audio in. :) Future project? Maybe use a raspberry pi?

@@JuliansRandomProject old, unused computer would do the job. All you have to do is renting domain+public IP+VPS, then tunnel the computer to the VPS. Perhaps if you want optimize the setup, Arch Linux could do the trick if you dare enough 😉 Edit: if your ISP can provide public IP, then VPS and tunneling stuffs are not necessary

How's your Flex5k doing? IDT I saw more vids on it. GREAT JOB ON THE POWER CONNECTOR! Cringed 5:13 when you originally mentioned hacking into the radio to pigtail the power. It only takes 10% more effort to go first class.... as you did! 73, Mike

I’m loving it! For my main rig, I don’t think I’ll leave flex’s offerings. Can’t wait for the 6000 series to become affordable on the used market.

Antennas toggle between A99 and home brew horizontal dipole. :) Trying to get regular. Thanks! And I’ll be checking out those upcoming coronal ejections. Should be interesting
