She needs some serious counseling and therapy. The recurring thread I see with alcoholics, drug addicts, and other substance abusers is they all share a pattern of trying to suppress TERRIBLE levels of pain and trauma from various points in their life. They abuse the substances to suppress that pain. I have a feeling that if they could do something to address the pain, they would stop using. And that’s the kicker. I think it’s easier to keep using than to face and resolve that pain. The pain is just that terrible. It takes a lot of courage and resolve to face your own pain and face yourself. Many people don’t have that type of strength, unfortunately.

I get really sad when people say that they’re grateful in some regard to their trauma because if it hadn’t happened then they wouldn’t be who they are today… And although I guess that’s technically true the truth is the trauma made us a very hurt version of who we would have been. I’ve had so much trauma in my life for the most of my life. I used to say the same thing when I was younger… then I grew up more and realized ‘NO F*CK THAT IM NOT GRATEFUL FOR THE WAY THINGS HAPPENED THOSE PEOPLE STOLE FROM MY SOUL AND BROKE ME…’ Don’t accept trauma as being the thing that gave you your good characteristics because it didn’t… you were already good. The only thing the trauma gave you is your pain and the negative qualities… ❤

Sasha is an amazing lady. Clearly very intelligent but it’s so sad that she has put up with so much already. Many of her problems caused by being pushed under the train and the pain killers she has become addicted to. It would be lovely for her to get clean and continue with her art. It would be lovely to see some of her art too. She must be very talented.

@@DjSicEm How? During prohibition, alcohol was much more deadly, and people drank even more heavily. Legalization brings regulation which is good for the consumer- so the alcohol isn't half methanol, or anywhere from 100 proof to 180 proof from day to day.

This young lady is in the perfect position to get out of this life right now...before things descend and spiral, and they will. She is bright, articulate, engaging and has some artistic and business talent by the sounds of it. She still has her whits about her, her brain, a spark of hope and she is one of the least obviously damaged people on the channel. A few moves in the right direction and she could have her life back on track. Get out of L.A. It sounds like you have a life back in New York still. Look after yourself and make the changes, like today!! Good luck Sasha. Life is waiting for you.

Not what I drank or how much I drank, Its what happens to me when I took the first drink. Allergy of the body compulsion of the mind and a life acceptance problem. Been sober since 1994. Tried many many many times to stay stopped from drinking again. My best thinking got me to where I ended up is what I was told by a person who was Sober. Complex yes but the answer is to stay stopped for 1 day and seek Sobriety as hard as I searched for my next drink & substance. Choose wisely the people around you and the people who truly care about you will models for your future. I should be dead. The gift of Sobriety is nothing to take for granted. Addiction has no boundaries to who it will take down a spiral of destruction and death.
