I have had mine since the late 90s. It's now 2024. I have carried it with me every day except to fly. I love this tool and used it constantly and everyone is amazed when I pull it out to fix or cut something. Blades are super sharp after all these years. Unfortunately the scales that keep the folding tension tight broke this year. First one, then the other and unfortunately, they no longer make them and SOG has been sold so the lifetime warranty is useless as they won't repair or replace discontinued items. I'd love to find one again. TX Tool Crib, if you are interested in selling yours, I'd love to buy it from you. Thanks!

how did they fail at every part of the tool? It's fascinating more than anything.

Had this for 3 years. Never had a problem with the sprockets digging into my pockets. Also had fillet 3 lb carp and other various baits with the knife. It never broke. I agree Everything else I agree with. I just retired it for the Leatherman micra.

I'd like to know how it cuts mono fishing line up to 30 lb class & braided line to 65 lb class, as far as the tooth pick it might serve well for tying a nail knot for fishing

SNIPPET STILL OWNED THIS THING. SUCH A SHAME THE LEGENDARY THINGS IN LIFE ARE TEMPORARY 😔
@bilakos19875 жыл бұрын
yup. Same here. Too many issues, and for some stuff the scissors fall short. Nothing really extraordinary to make up for the shortcomings. Micra all the way, or a small SAK, if you want scissors on a keychain. Even those Chinese folding keychain scissors cut better than the crosscut.

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed with this one.

Have you seen the new Ozark Trail multi-tool? Basically a Wave copy with some improvements over the design, and half the price of a Wave. And decent quality from what I've seen so far. A bit bulkier than a Wave, but definitely an improvement over the usual Ozark multi-tools.
@txtoolcrib5 жыл бұрын
I haven’t seen one that resembles the Wave. You wouldn’t happen to have a part # or model would you? I’d like to check it out.

@@txtoolcrib Ozark Trail Multiforce. Search for it, it pops up in the first results. There's a youtube video on it as well as a comparison of it and the Wave in forum.multitool.org.

I just picked this tool up tonight. I’m going to do an initial overview on it first, then a full review later on. I would like to credit you for making me aware of this multi tool. Would you like me to just reference you by your screen name? I must say, initially, I’m pretty impressed with this multi tool. Thanks for this.

Thank you for a good review ~! SOG CROSSCUT's scissors performance is bad The spring action of the handle is too strong The sharpening condition of the scissors is bad but the design is good The scissors performance of SOG 2019 SNIPPET and the scissors of GERBER SPLICE are good ~~!

I had a SOG powerlock. Seemed fine, I didn’t like it but it was a ‘to each their own’ type thing. Then I got a Reactor. Total piece of garbage. As much as I want to try SOG products (they’re just up the road from me in Lynnwood) I have found the few products of theirs to be markedly lower quality than anything else I’ve tried from another manufacturer at a similar price point. The Powerlock cost the same as my Charge TTI did at the time; pretty big quality difference there.

They do have a couple of products that I think are pretty good but I agree with you for the most part.
