Chandrayaan 1 was orbiter+impactor. It was 100% successful. Chandrayaan 2 was orbiter+lander+rover. It was only partially successful. The orbiter is still working perfectly after 4 years. Lander had a crash landing and was destroyed along with the rover that it was carrying. Chandrayaan 3 was lander+rover and would use, if needed, Chandrayaan 2 's orbiter. It is 100% successful. I hope Chandrayaan 4 is about returning the rover back to Earth, and Chandrayaan 5 is about landing Indian astronauts on the surface of the moon and bringing them back to Earth safely.
