She was trained by Michael Jackson's vocal coach and you are right that it is a crime that she isn't so known but there is a reason for that, believe me there is no entertainment company in south korea that didn't try to make a contract with her, even the top 3 companies (SM, YG and JYP) didn't miss their chance but she turned them all down...So Hyang herself said it that she isn't singing for fame or profit, she is only singing for God and to spread love. She is a deep Christian and a very strong woman, on her honeymoon she started to have some minor stomach pains and she ignored for few days but when her husband find out about it he dragged her to the hospital and there they found out that she had stomach cancer, she survived the treatment but became unable to have kids and she really wanted to have kids but even today she says that her marriage was a blessing send by God to save her, the emotional strength this woman has is unbelievable.

So Hyang chooses not to sign with an agency and promote more ... she is a humble Christian and rather than a big music industry career she sings in churches and ministries around the world ... she is also a professor of music at a University in Korea ... also a cancer survivor ... I understand what you mean about her recognition but I believe that is changing unbeknownst to her through reaction videos ... of all reactors I see who pop up on my KZbin she always ends up at one point or another being reacted to giving her international exposure and a much much larger fan base as people who react to more known worldwide singers such as Arianna Grande etc are often challenged to react to So Hyang as well ... many of these reactors have amazing subscription and view levels in the 1000's to 10,000's and beyond. I believe she has become a reaction phenomenon and a must for most all music reactions.

Despite her obvious talent and undeniable skill, I don't like some of her performances because she doesn't use her skill tastefully in my opinion. I think that she ascends to the top of her range with those huge belts too soon and stays there for too long. To me, it becomes grating after a while and eventually loses its effect. I just wish she'd use her angelic head voice and midrange a little more and reserve her amazing upper belts for the second half of the song or just a little less so they have more impact.

Hi, If you've seen all So Hyang's her performances, you'll know she's done a lot of different performances. You'll know something else from the competition. I had the same idea as you watching Diamsh's performance, but he hasn't yet reached her level to show various performances and emotions considering singing skill, supported range and vocal control. I've known him for about a year and now I've known her for about three months. Both are my favorite singers. Good sleep !
