Again this angelic little genius has taken me to Heaven. One of the best performances of this Bach masterpiece I have heard since the classic version of Yehudi Menuhin and David Oistrakh around 1958. Absolutely stunningly beautiful and brilliant! (Shame about the coughing.)

SoHyun, before watching this, I've just re-watched your playing Sarasate: Zigeunerweisen Op.12 at Heigetz International Music Institute. Your playing is really engaging me emotionally. I love and really enjoy to listen the melodies you make. I also love to see your gestures when you stroke the violin bow on each string of the violin. It is so elegant. People who constantly make noises (coughing, opening wrappers, etc) in these types of performances "drive me crazy". If you're not feeling well, or can't keep quite, then "Stay Home" or 'at least' get up and quietly exit the auditorium! I think there's more going on with these types of people ('mentally' speaking) than simply their 'cough'. Those people who 'excuse' the coughing are probably 'inconsiderate cougher ' themselves. The beauty of this music should be given the reverence it deserves

1분 45초 주커만이 고소현의 바이올린 소리를 자세히 듣기 위해, 고개를 살짝 들이대죠. 잠시 후에 둘이 서로 얼굴을 마주한채 씩~ 하고 미소를 나눕니다. 정말 보기 좋은 장면이죠. 얼마 전에 정경화와 조성진이 같이 연주를 했을때 보여준 장면만큼 멋진 것 같습니다. 이것이 바로 스승과 제자의 아름다운 모습과 연주입니다. 밑에 분이 지적하신, 주커만에 대한 의견은 지극히 온당하다고 생각합니다. 거장과 교사는 마땅히 자신의 본분을 다해 쓴소리를 하는 것이 당연한 겁니다. 그런 것을 감정적으로 받아들이면 안되죠. 게다가 음악가가 음악가로서 한 이야기는, 음악가에 음악가로서 대답을 해야지, 일반 대중이 PC주의적 시각으로 비판과 욕으로 접근해서는 아무것도 안되는 겁니다. 개인적으로 바이올리니스트 고소현이 이스라엘 태생 주커만의 지도를 받은 것은 고소현과 한국 클래식음악의 미래에도 긍정적인 큰 영향을 줄 것이라고 생각합니다. 아무리 능력이 뛰어나도 모든 플랫폼을 장악하고 있는 미국과 이스라엘의 시선을 받지 않는다면, 그 어떤 분야에서도 전 지구적으로 크게 성공할 수 없기 때문입니다. 우리나라에 정경화와 장영주의 계보를 잇는 바이올리니스트는 아직 없습니다. 고소현 양은 지금 착실하게 현재 진행형으로 나아가고 있으며, 기존의 국내 바이올리니스트와 달리 어려서부터 국, 내외적인 큰 시선과 관심을 받고 있습니다. 유튜뷰 영상에 한국어, 영어, 중국어, 일본어, 아랍어, 인도어 기타 등등 댓글 달리는 것만 봐도 알 수가 있어요. 분명히 기존의 다른 국내형 바이올리니스트와는 차원이 다릅니다. 지속적인 발전으로 바이올린 계의 큰 획을 긋는 거장이 되었으면 좋겠습니다. 그렇게 될 겁니다 아마....홧팅^^

훌륭합니다. 제가 제일 좋아하는 곡입니다. 어린시절 미국에서 초등학교 다닐때 음악담당 선생님 밑에서 바이올린을 배웠는데 한국 귀국할때 인사를 드렸더니 한국 가면 꼭 바이올린 제대로 배우라 신신당부 하셨었네요 ㅎㅎ 재능 썩히지 말라면서.. 당시 2-3년 이상을 배운 동급생들 대신 반년남짓 배운 제가 졸업행사에서 솔로 연주 했었네요. 평양감사도 지가 싫으면 못한다고 부모님께서는 과외도 붙혀주시거 했지만 제가 흥미를 잃어 그만 뒀는데, 지금은 조금 후회가 됩니다. 뭐 재능이 있었다해도 우리 영상에 있은 꼬마숙녀분 만큼은 아니었다 생각하고 바이올린으로 먹고살(?) 수준은 아니었겠지만, 취미삼아 계속 했으면 어땠을까 싶네요. 멋진 연주 잘 보고 갑니다^^

I just hope it was the recording mics that heard most of that coughing and not the audience and musicians. If it was me though, I would have taken my coughing fit out to the lobby and then watched the rest of the performance from the wings.

Yes, it's extremely selfish and inconsiderate to even go to the performance if you're going to cough through it. Never mind if someone has paid for their ticket, if they can't stay quiet they shouldn't be there

ROCK is wonderful, HIP HOP not that much, COUNTRY can be wonderful too, and so on. However, when it comes classical music and you are used to hear it, it is UNBEATABLE. This vídeo is a clear example. Amazing!

Correct, when she finished elementary school, she moved to the USA to study with him. He told her she could only practice four hours a day. Her mom has to stop her from practicing.
