Phacelia grows 60 inch roots in 30 days. Bees love it. Oilseed Radishes are good cover crops. Radishes work well with peas.

I plant my plots for deer but I’m wanting to improve the soil. I like to plant cereal grains in the winter for them like cereal rye, wheat, and triticale. What are some good warm season cover crops to plant in the spring. I plan on discing the cereal grains in before they get too big just as spring green up begins so the deer have a constant green source all year long.

Dear Sir do you plant the hairy vetch seeds in the same hopper as the rye? or do you plant the rye seperately to do a mix ?

Cover crops and noxious weeds! So the rule to farm by is "Terminate your cover crops before they flower." Is that right? Does a cover crop become a noxious weed because it has flowered and seeded?

+ryan ayers Try Green Cover Seed, they have good variety of cover crops I know they have sunnhemp for sure and a few radishes not sure about peas.
