When your plants look like that amaranth, don’t treat them for anything! It just means you are supporting your wildlife. If your garden looks perfect, you probably have a lot of non-native species. It’s a small price to pay to see all those butterflies flying around your yard laying their larvae.

Tu vestido es hermoso, yo necesito uno vestidos así! Jajaja 😊 I think that if you have a "dispensable" plant that is attracting those beatles it's a good thing, cause it'll keep them away from your roses, like a host plant. I am loving your garden, it's going to look so pretty when the hydrangeas bloom.

I know you are zone 5 but try cutting back your blue salvia plants this fall and mulch with chopped leaf mulch (like 🍁 maple) and see if they come back. If we have a mild winter you may be surprised! I am NJ zone 7a but last year I did this and 50% of my a Rockin the Blues salvia came back perfectly and all 100% of my black and blue salvia came back better than (doubled in size and height) when I originally planted it!! It was worth the effort to try it! Choosing Joy ~ Stephanie 😉

Beautiful garden. I live in southern Ontario 🇨🇦 zone6b and we are having a lot of issues with bugs eating the plants also this year. They have completed eaten the zinnias and the hyacinth bean vine…also lots of mosquitoes this year. Thinking that maybe the mild winter didn’t kill off enough of the bugs. Thanks for sharing your lovely garden. 🌸👩‍🌾

A standard limelight is on my wishlist. The garden looks happy and healthy, beautiful blooms. Your amaranth is doing so well, hoping to see more growth on mine soon. Bugs are esting my stuff too, and hard to use anything with all of the rain we have been having . It's so satisfying to grow things from seed! I love it. I'm really loving nasturtiums this year, I love the leaves and flowers. Ohh i want some of those melliunim allium too. I should just make a shopping list hahaha. This planters are massive hahhaha I love it. Your trellises held up so well. Ohhh your Shasta daisy's look amazing! I cant wait for mine to start blooming, they're still small hahah. I love that coleus! And those nasturtiums are going crazy. I need a planter with just nasturtiums next year. Hibiscus are my favorite flowers. I love that dark foliage! Wow. Your dress is so pretty! I love wraps!

@@SoilandMargaritas good idea. I put a couple of orders in in Aug of last year, and a ton of seed swaps in the fall, so I didn't need to try and order anything the beginning of this year when everything was crazy.

This was such a great garden tour. Thank you so much for going into all the details, it was helpful. Your garden is just so beautiful and looks so peaceful. Your garden is beautiful. When I grow Hyacinth Bean vine in my zone 8 garden in Texas I never fertilize, I give them full sun and very little water. They grow to about 20 feet covered in blooms. They thrive on neglect. Hope this helps. I had to laugh as you dealt with the bee as I deal with walking into spider webs. Awful feeling.

Everything looks beautiful! My husband and I finally finished my no dig raised flower beds on the side of our garage here in zone 5 MA but I’ve only been able to plant up one of the beds because we have had so much rain this past month and beginning of July. I guess if it’s not the heat it’s the rain and I’ll take the rain. 😊. I need to decide what to plant next. 😁

You have done an amazing job. Your garden is so pretty and lush. I was never a big fan of Nasturtium until last summer when I stuck some seeds in containers in the middle of July and by September they had taken over my containers and foliage was stunning. I just stuck some in containers yesterday hoping for same results. Love your soothing spirit. Zone 6 here. Happy gardening ♥️

Your garden is so lush and beautiful! I love it. Im in zone 6 and every time I plant Amaranth, Japanese beetles eat the leaves. In fact, everything that has purple leaves like the plum trees, etc. get eaten by Japanese beetles. I go out every day with a bucket of soapy water 😜. Every season I plant less purple-leaved plants.

Beautiful garden and host! Love your dress too! I tried the no-dig method and planted too soon. Some plants did great, but others had some brown stuff like yours and struggled. I am wondering if it has to do with the decomposing underneath. I think they will be fine next year. At least, that's what I tell myself. :)
