"Echo" is so convincing that it's easy to believe this was exactly the way Bach himself intended. Every part is good, but the finale is soul touching. I felt the most passion there... Absolutely the best. So much love for music. I've never imagine myself crying so hard for this piece before.

A breathtaking, extraordinary, really outstanding rendition. It made me quite motionless, by too much astonishment, for a while.
Was this recording originally so massively distorted or did KZbin's format conversions destroy it? It's barely listenable.

Rather relaxed tempos for a number of the dances, e.g., the bouree.

The sound is really poor alas, but the playing is certainly not. I attended two concerts with this music and have never heard anybody play Bach so well on a modern instrument. Lets hope there will be an authorized version in the future.

I love at the 29.23. But this doesn't belong to the french ouverture. the French ouverture doesn't dure 1 hour. Thanks for further information and for posting the video

Great, original playing, wildly distorted audio. Sounds ok if you go into another room and shut the door. It seems that, even on CD, Sokolov's recordings get poor marks for sound quality. What's the deal?
