Solar eclipse 2024: When and where to watch the phenomenon

Cities and towns across the U.S. will descend into darkness on Monday for up to 4 and a half minutes as the moon blocks the sun. The path of totality will stretch across 15 states from Texas to Maine and pass over an estimated 31 million people. NBC’s Priscilla Thompson reports in this week’s Sunday Focus.

Bright and sunny in Jersey behind the Statue of Liberty, Bayonne NJ. In the mid 1960s there was a complete and total eclipse of the sun, in summer. That was the only total eclipse of the sun we had. Dunno how much of it we'll see but it is nice and sunny so we may be able to detect something 😅

I wonder how many people will attempt to sue multiple businesses for raising prices for this event. Price Gouging is 100% illegal in many states/municipalities. The biggest party on the planet tomorrow will be in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Up to a million visitors (mostly Canadian) will be swarming in for the eclipse, nice of you to mention Canada, since it’s cutting through Southern Ontario, S Quebec and our Atlantic provinces. NASA is sending a delegation to the Falls, and the world’s best photojournalists are expected to attend as well. (Because of the whole 7 wonders of the world thing, which sits dead centre in the path of totality).
