My home just happens to be right smack dab in the middle of the eclipse path of totality. We've had a lot of visitors to our quiet town in the last few days. Come along with us as we watch a once in a lifetime spectacle from the hills up behind my house.

I live in far NE Ga, near the SC border, start of the Ap Trail. We were in direct line. Was same..nonstop traffic, all hotel/motel's booked, town selling out of everything. Did the same..pulled my lawn lounger into the yard (not really a yard, live in a 800 sq ft cabin in the woods)...and just sat in the silence, even the birds went silent, from beginning, far past the end. Saw the Diamond burst, have not cried that hard in quite awhile. God is wonderful...think most people missed that all bunched up at Brasstown Bald like ants. It was breath taking.

Nice one Mike. I did the same thing and carved during the eclipse myself. :) Here it was only about 80 percent eclipsed so it wasn't quite as spectacular. It was pretty eerie though for about twenty minutes - everything looked pretty silvery and just plain odd. Looked like a nice place to enjoy the event.
