I feel immensely lucky to have found this and hope I can find the original NASA video clip of this. Myself a group of friends were all up on the northeast coast of New Brunswick to watch, and were beyond lucky with some of the the most beautifully clear weather in all of North America for this event... Having seen totality from the ground and now seeing a video of the event happening at real-time speed and seeing that shadow envelop the exact area where we all were feels so surreal.. then the camera panning down towards the end and getting to see my home province in all her beauty there too.. what an incredibly special video! 💙💙💙

This was my third eclipse, I took this one in from Bingham, Maine. Add to that Bucharest in 1999, and Kanarraville (annular) in 2012. I have been richly blessed to experience these. The view from the ISS was most interesting. Those "little red spots" are called "prominences," it would be lovely to have journalists that have a basic understanding of the universe but I guess we take what we can get, right?

So if you're looking at the eclipse from the space station, right above the moon, wouldn't the moon be lit up from the sunlight coming from behind? Also the first showing the eclipse, well from the ISS you'd never see it look like that. That's how it looks from Earths perspective. The fact you people make fun of people for noticing these things... that you can't, well speaks volumes about intelligence, integrity, character, and how well your indoctrination has come since grade school with a globe sitting in your classroom

3 things; 1st, the ISS is the INTERNATIONAL space station, it's not just NASA. 2nd, NASA's budget as a percent of GDP is lower than any point since 1962. 3rd, how the actual fu@$ do you think they'd just magically film from more than one "perspective" exactly? A different perspective would require a different camera, meaning they'd need to launch another satellite up there to do that. So what then, they're supposed to waste the piddly budget they have on launching a bunch of satellites just to record this? @@user-nr3de3oo7p The sun is very far away and much larger, the shadow size is accurate, since the sun is far away and larger, it forms a shrinking cone towards the surface of the earth, that's simple phsyics. You're conflating relative close objects you see on earth. What your talking about is the penumbra which is too hard to see and is too weak, what's projecting is the umbra, the super visible part. Short version, you're talking about the penumbra, it's very large and basically not perceptiable, what you're viewing in the video is the umbra. If you're convinced would recommended the wikipedia for "light".

@@ComicMelon I like what you say! Yes sun is far away! Then the sun rays are straight and parallel... The proof of that is when you look @ half moon it has sharp shadow edge.

There seems to be a disconnect here. God is a part of nature, not apart from it. He has planted a seed in every man that won't grow unless the conditions are right. You don't acknowledge Him and that's not conducive to growth. You must give living things what they need to grow, and be patient while they grow.

Actually you should educate yourself before yelling CGI or FAKE. It's not my job to teach you what your teachers haven't done
