Thank u for watching..and amazing question u asked ... Defenetly U can connect on off switch . If u will connect the switch .just switch on.. immediately it's start working .no need to charge the solar panel Because we use smd led light . This type led light give high glowing in very low current consumption even it's working in very low voltage .that's why i used this light.. If u tried this u will get surprised .because it working in day light in room near window .no need to direct sunlight if u see the video . I'm made this project in near my room window. While I'm connecting the wires it's immediately start working... Ask u r doubt whenever u need...

No it's not glow.solarpanel work is only observe the sunlight and convert to electrical energy instantly.solar panel not saving any energy.so it's not work .if you want to glow the light in night time this set up require rechargeable battery and switch .
