Thanks Josh! The 206STSE/1910ESP, or the 228BHSE/2280BHESP are the two models my wife and I are considering, and you've now covered both in the last week! Contrary to what others think, these models are useful for week long, even two week long vacations at an RV Park or National/State Park. It all depends on how you like to RV!

Nice little camper, most jeeps and other vehicles can take it "offroad" on a trail, just not bear country. Manfred Mann's Earth Band did the better version of Blinded by the Light. These are great in the backyard to get your little kids to nap by doing story time and a snack, works almost every time. Be safe Josh. I do not think there is a color code for port-a-tubs, there is for fuels, etc blue is water but supposed to be clean water.

Hi Josh! (I'm late to the party as usual). Thanks for all you do. And yes, I read your notes for 2 reasons a) you are always entertaining, even in written form, and b) that is where we can find all the important technical stuff ...aka specs. Hubs and I have been thinking about upgrading our older '95 popup for a couple of years now. So we have a dilemma, upgrading to a TT would also mean upgrading our truck. And since we are very close to having zero car payments (woot woot), we would like to keep it that way. Then a light bulb went off in my head (that hurt btw). Howza bout we just upgrade to a newer popup instead, then (this is the cool part), our current truck can actually tow it! Boom! Pretty fantastic idea if I do say so myself.

Thank you so much for covering this trailer. I ordered the Rockwood 1910esp last year and get to pick it up end of this month. (A full year later) It's like you said the exact same trailer. I think in regards to the name you could use both. Rockstaff for rockwoods and a Flagwood for Flagstaff. Either way keep up the great videos. 👍
@JoshtheRVNerd2 жыл бұрын
I actually like the Different names for the different things I’m covering there. At works. A lot of channels don’t take the time to cover things like pop-ups like this but we sell more than just big trailers in fifth wheels and I want to have a little something for everyone out there
@outdoorsman2b9182 жыл бұрын
Rockstaff please... I remember 10-12 years ago a friend had a similar one. At that moment I research them a lot and there were various model "toy hauler platforms " and big locked cargo box in the front. The ones with platform could carry two four wheelers. This is a great starting point for somebody who want to start camping with some minimum comfort but doesn't want to invest in a travel trailer and/or change their vehicle. Any crossover with 4x4 is usually rated around 4000 lbs towing capacity. And it also fits in the garage. The tank colors are a color code: Yellow is diesel, red gas, blue water and so on

TY for the tank colors! :)

Great video! How much-added hitch weight could one expect with a battery and 2-full propane tanks? Would you recommend an equalizer hitch?
@JoshtheRVNerd Жыл бұрын
I don't know exactly how much the weight of those would apply directly to the tongue but I have a video that might help you here regarding hitch weight: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gXq4XnpsZcdghLM I'm unable to offer hitching insights without also having a better understanding of your vehicle. Chances are on a camper like this if you are running low on payload rating from just a popup, then you probably shouldn't be towing it at all

@@JoshtheRVNerd I don't fully understand your formula but if I have a Kia Telluride, 500lb. hitch, 5,000lb. tow with the tow package. Josh, I have been looking for a Trailer long time, I have seen your rockwood pop up factory tour. I have come down two a couple different ones. My question is what do you know f the construction and quality of Starcraft, Comet. the other two im looking at are Rockwood. why would some models hold there value better? Thanks in advance.

A comet was just starcraft's version of what Jayco called a Hummingbird basically. Laminated walls/floor. One piece fiberglass front to back. 6.5ft wide.

Lmao - swear to God, read the thumbnail as "Solar Pig". Great off-grid rig here. Not sure here in the south it'd be too comfortable in a pop up without some sort of AC in the summer time. Then again, same goes for a swampy tent too, so there's that.

lol seriously thought about it. I've been in THREE this trip alone. First hotel was between our two iowa stores. I was hoping to bounce between them but there's just too much driving and I was losing a lot of time. So I moved closer to davenport but was booking only over the phone and the agent set me up in a roach motel from one of their "allied partners." It was rough. I'll spare you the details. Third room is simple, not fancy, but it's clean/dry/doesn't smell like mildew and murder. I'm MUCH happier here lol :)

i like these kind of things, something i would own for sure, but i prefer something more ... permanent... that i COULD full time in if i had to warranty or no warranty, something i wont freeze my dingle berries together, forcing logs to steam their way out during the winter... now if i already had a 5th wheel or such planted semi permanently on my own land... something like this would be perfect for the shorter better weather camping or vacation trips where bringing the big one would be a waste and not worth the trouble. ... this and a jeep would be great for exploring the areas and camping near your already nice spot you planted the 5th wheel as your main off grid home. .... now i would never refuse to buy one of these, what we will call a normal built trailer will generally be more expensive too, beggers cant be choosers, i take what i can get..... COULD full time in this if you pick and choose your locations and weather conditions carefully.... if you had to, main problem besides the obvious things is that you cant just latch a cabinet shut bring up the jacks and leave, even the top up and down not the issue, just another step... the pain in the ass would be removing and rearranging all the crap so it can close shut properly without leaving anything in you may need, a normal trailer all you gotta do is toss the coffee maker in the cabinet and be done. clothes can hang right where they are, unlike in this type..... as long as i have a shower, even if outside... bed and power.... i can figure the rest out as i go... literally lol. although i do not think dropping a deuce next to your dog outside the door would be appropriate in a camp ground. .. but hey if the dog dont care why should i right?

Josh, you're a hot mess (as we say in the south), but over the course of that past year or so of watching your videos, you're the one I measure pretty much everyone else's videos. You're consistent and entertaining while actually knowing what you're talking about...that's one hell of a sales tool. I hope your brother at Advantage1 loosens up a bit, his videos are almost painful to watch. The last one he did was his best yet...I think he stopped taking himself so seriously and started trying to have fun (that's the real key, have fun at what you're doing). I started out watching Big Truck/Big RV...but he disses anything that's not at least a 3/4 tonne truck to the point I unsubbed him. THere's a guy out of Georga (little chubby guy) that I occasionally watch his videos, but yours are the ones I watch every single one of...it's your knowledge and sens of dorky humor that I appreciate the most. You've given me a great deal to think about...I'm still leaning hard on an Outback toyhauler (240URS, 33 or 34, depending upon my mood), but you consistently offer up a plethora of choices. The one brand I've written off are Cherokee Grey Wolf/Wolf Pups/et al...they don't offer a drop down queen bed, just that stupid flop down couches...

Looking for a camper that by far has the lowest resale value, 0 "Cracker Barrel" ability, broken down once when it's raining and not opened up and again next time you go camping and having it smell like mold, a real pain to set up, a middle of the camper season only, horrible toilet and no shower, then this is the camper for you!
