This is a great educational resource for those looking to learn how solar panels work. One important thing to note from this video is that as long as the sun is shining, electricity is being generated by the solar panels. It’s very important for homeowners and safety professionals to have safety protocol in place should they malfunction or catch fire as they could emit lethal levels of electricity. In addition to first responders shutting off the main source of power upon arrival of the scene in solar panel emergency scenarios, we have developed a supplemental tool for firefighters and safety professionals that de-energizes the panels, allowing firefighters to safety continue tactics required to save homeowners, and hopefully the home as well.
