Note: you can build a double arm tower by following this guide. Then add the second turret controller, elevation rotor, solar panels and camera. When setting up the second turret controller, use the same azimuth rotor but the additional elevation rotor/hinge and camera.

In some cases the turret controller is still bugged, for example for me, the aim at sun option does not appear, it can be activated through a cockpit, but will not work unless the game is restarted. so if you have any odd behavior, it might be this!

I wasn't aware of this bug. Did you try to report it over here: support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers? May be worth it, as Keen tries to fix any bugs related to the new update

if you select and deselect a weapon in the turret controller it brings up all the options you were missing.

Thanks for help with the bug; don't get me wrong glad they added this feature with rotors, but bugs like this make it so frustrating when trying to do something so seemingly simple. Reminds me of the bugged Hydrogen Engines that won't fill up with hydrogen when you first build them.

If they are positioned back to back as shown they still work. I think the one behind might get slightly less sunlight.

It is surprising how lenient solar panels are. Most none full blocks dont block solar panels as long as they are on the back side, aka the side that touches the side of the panel. So you have have the armor panels covering your solar panels without hindering them. I use that trick for decorating.

What if I'm using a hinge for the elevation tracking? I have a hinge in my setup, but the hinge doesn't seem to work, only rotating with the rotor.

Hinge should work too. Did you assign it in the custom turret controller?

Hello. I.recently followed this tutorial for make a solar array, but the bateries on my base arent getting charged. The knly thing ive done different is add several light armour blocks between the battery and the azimuth rotar for additional height. Also onstead of doing a single solar panel, ive done several that are all connected to one another.

Try selecting and deselecting the camera/weapon in the turret controller and also check if your game is up to date (automatons update)

There are a few possibilities - first of all check if your game is up to date, than make sure that you assigned rotors/hinges, and weapon/camera in the custom turret controller. I've also heard from people that re-assigning those blocks may help
