Thank Q so much. This has given me an idea to create my own circulation pump. my koi pond seems to have stagnant areas even though i have a pump and recently made a bog filter too. using a battery pack is really great. i see lots of solar panel pump reviews on amazon and those things don't seem to last long. i would much rather make my own.

My father has a pond about twice that size. Very bad for green algae for years even with the filter. He added a plant that almost looks like a cactus. It's an oxidation plant also. It completely cleared up the water unbelievable. Now it was a good size plant to start with. I wouldn't worry about not filtering at night or anything out there it will be fine. I'd look into a really good size and type plant that will do the job for you better. Probably a good outdoor pond/garden centre place.

Greetings from the beautiful, sunny and warm all- ear 😁 (had to rub that in) Caribbean island of Barbados. You pond looks great. Not sure how they would work for countries that have winter weather, but you should explore the possibility of a "bog filter." They're perfect for keeping the water clear, so that you can see to the very bottom of your pond. Would be interested in hearing if you're able to set up a bog filter and how it works for you. Check out the following link. The series has about 12 videos worth watching. Of course it's a patio pond but it should be adaptable to an outside pond like yours. Blessings you you and all those you love!

Hey Graeme! The pond is looking great, you could try using barely straw to clear your green water it usually take 1-2 weeks to fully clear the water and will keep it clear for 6 months, also some rainbow shiners would look amazing, they’re usually on the pricy side compared to goldfish but depends on where you go, they don’t get big (I’d say about 3inches) and don’t produce a lot of bioload, they like temperatures above 10c so could always be brought inside throughout the winter. I have 5 that need rehoming, unfortunately they were in my pond outside that had split in the hotter days, if you are interested I’m in the Lincolnshire area and I don’t mind travelling.

The pond is awesome Graeme! Love the little fountain especially! You can just see the tip of the red noggins on the goldfish haha! 😂👍

Hi ,Thank you for the link to this video . Just the type of items I need to try for my pond. Is the power bank you have waterproof? I will look back over your previous videos as I presume you go into further detail how to make the two filters that you already had in your pond before adding the electricity based uv filter ? Thank you for the enjoyable content. 😊

Looking good. I am surprised you didn't go for Medaka or White Clouds in there! The pond is a good, tempting size for my garden... 😉

Can you use mussels for natural water filters in the pond?

do you have issues with your pump turn off at night and did the fish die? I have a solar pump but only runs during the day. I have killed a few guppies, and am wondering if the pump on'/off at night is killing them. I have a bog filter that is gravity fed.

I haven't had any issues only running the filter during the day - every scenario will be different though, so best to do water tests to figure out what is going on

I built that exact filter during the week, from pondguru 😂
