Yeah, no kidding! Oklahoma is a windy place for sure. I don't know why it decided to be so windy during this project. Sure made it harder. Thanks for the comment!
@aa999xyz4 жыл бұрын
great looking project, what about some surge protection that would fit perfectly on that din rail just beside the breaker just about $20?
@LDSreliance4 жыл бұрын
For sure, that would be a good addition. I was not expecting a lightning strike to the system but I guess you never know.

Thanks! Unfortunately, I don't work for that company any more and I don't have access to the footage. Sorry about that.

hi,may i know if the pv module is charging the battery and powering the camera at the same time? or the module just charge battery only and the camera draw power from the battery?
@LDSreliance6 жыл бұрын
It can do both at the same time. The panel is big enough that it can power the camera all day while it fully charges the battery.

Please what does record onto Do you have a special NVR Or DVR?
@LDSreliance6 жыл бұрын
Yes, it was recording on to an NVR and it was set to capture video when it detected motion.
@mjsheridan2143 жыл бұрын
@@LDSreliance do you have a video of the full set up including recording devices? I’m setting up solar panels with a 4 camera system at deer lease and no power other than sun. This is all new to me. I appreciate your channel and your videos.

Where can I order that weather proof pannel you installed with the battery in it?
Nice Video!! Question regarding the solar pannel. What's it's max output? Do you think it would be possible to run a 40 volt appliance 24hours a day?
@LDSreliance5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The solar panel was 100W. How many amps is your appliance?

LDSreliance Retirement....then wanting to travel......came here ......liked it....and decided to stay. Im looking into solar here and at my place in NW Oklahoma. Here its a little more difficult to find solar products without shipping from China.
@LDSreliance8 жыл бұрын
MrScoops812 Yeah, I can imagine it will be harder to find quality, trustworthy stuff over there, especially if you don't speak and read the language fluently. If the stuff is small enough I am sure you could buy it in the states and carry it on the plane with you or in your luggage.

I'm going to just throw this out there, but I think I'd put mine around 12-15 ft. above the ground. But I think anyone with a shotgun could easily defeat the system. What's even dumber is I'm trying to find out how to do it myself, LOL
@LDSreliance7 жыл бұрын
I think anyone with a gun could take out a security camera from far enough away to not be seen. Where there is a will there is a way. I don't think the camera being up higher would make much difference.
@TheJason19575 жыл бұрын
Seems like a waste of time and money, Why not run a cat5e wire with boosters to give you up to 2000 ft of power to POE Camera? Have the DVR in the building. If its farther then that use a WiFi set up.
@LDSreliance5 жыл бұрын
You must not be familiar with how much it costs to properly bury underground cables. It would have been 5x more to do it that way.

@LDSreliance8 жыл бұрын
+DAVID JONES Man that sucks. It would be pretty easy to steal. Just loosen a few nuts and disconnect the wires or cut them and you are off. Mine is behind a fence, though, and there will be other cameras that would see what was going on so we could report it to the police.
