Hi John, I am interested in your project, but first before trying to replicate it, I would like to ask you if in your opinion and after more testing the system is really usable from a solar power point of view. Are the pannels and battery enough to be reliable? Or should we try to go for something bigger (panel and/or battery)? Thanks in advance!

David, apologies for the delay... I'll try give you a brief overview of what I've found so far, but I'll do an update video on this next year... Start with getting a good photovoltaic panel. The small ones I bought were awful and don't put enough current out generally. This is especially true if you're in the Northern Hemisphere. You might be able to get away with cheaper ones if you're near the Equator or in the Southern Hemisphere. Bear in mind, it has to charge the Powerbank to full capacity during daylight hours, so it can last a full night of darkness. If the Powerbank doesn't get a full charge, it will last about 4 days before if runs out of power. Other than that, everything else appears to work :-)
