I understand the author's skepticism about the 1000 mile never-charge claims of the Aptera solar enhanced vehicle. It does sound too good to be true but there is innovative but solid engineering that has withstood serious exploration and testing. The trick is optimizing for efficiency beginning by eliminating 25% of the rolling friction off the top by going to a three-wheel setup. The lightweight but strong composite monocoque chassis, in-wheel motors sculpted to slice through the air with a cd of .13 is how those lofty efficiency goals are attained. With its full solar array the Aptera is capturing about 700 watts/hr in sunny climes it can add over 40 miles of range daily largely because it gets over 10 miles/kw. It uses various sized batteries to collect energy from the sun with the 25kw option offering 250 miles of range and the maximum 100kw battery the source of the 1000 mile range. Bye and bye I think you'll be re-writing the report sooner than later.
