1) Water doesn’t go inside the evacuated tube... unless you want the glass to shatter. You use a heat exchanger. 2) The outside of the tube is clear glass to let sunlight pass through. The inside layer of glass is dark to collect the energy from the sun. 3) If you had used heat exchangers your tubes would not have broken...... 4) The overflow/vent tank has to be at the top of the unit. Your original alignment was correct or close at least. 5) Don’t cut a hole in the top of the roof unless you can seal it properly.

I don't understand the intent in your message. The purpose of this machine is not to exchange/transfer heat from one medium to another, but to absorb heat from solar radiation. The purpose of this simple machine is to take a hot shower, don't overthink it with advanced mechanics. You can't prove how the tubes broke, you can't prove the roof hole was not sealed properly. The overflow tank/vent is at the top.

@@WiIdlifeWarrior I know this a very late reply but you are right. This dude is confusing your set up for a high pressure system or one that uses heat exchanger fluid to fill the tubes. The tubes will only break if it was exposed in a very hot sun without water & then fill it afterwards without cooling down. He clearly doesn't know what he's talking about

I couldn't give you an accurate answer. These materials were bought and installed in Perú 6 years ago. If you google "Vacuum Tube Thermosyphon Collectors", you can may find what you're looking for.

Jose Malcolm true, I’m usually a fan of those. It’s basically just piping water UP to the small tank and hot water out of the tank DOWN to the shower. Depends on your place for how you’ll connect those.
