SolarBaits some savage gear double hooks could be a good addition to this fly , made for soft plastic but a nice long shank for a fly this size the 3/0 are pretty close in shank length to the 6/0 Aberdeen :) just a thought ,but if you deliberately used the single hook then disregard this 😂

I use the foam from flip flops I bought in Portugal for two euro a bargain supply of high density foam for fly tying. Thanks for the good informative videos.

Peter Fry I do the same with old sandals found on the beach. also makes a great material for long casting weighted float and hook protector.

Love making fishing tackle from flip-flops, like sliding floats, casting/popping bobbers and lures. I've found the cheapest ones are the easiest to work with and I can always find lots of them on the beach in Bali. The local traditional fisherman use small rectangular sections of old flip-flops on the top edge of their nets between the main floats. Your fly looks great btw (as usual)

1) Awesome idea and unique side profile construction. I can totally see where that looks like a wounded baitfish trying to right itself. 2) I liked the on the water time at the end. Please do more of this. I like the lure craft videos but I would like to see you fish your creations more.

I watched Marling baits make a lure by adding hooks to a rectangular block of wood. No shaping or anything and he caught a fish. Made me realize they strike at anything moving or it’s near there territory. Not sure

Thats what you would call a reaction bite. They just hit the lure of anykind cos of instinct or if the fish species are terratorial they might bite anything that gets into their space.

maybe, atleast im making an effort now to go and do a small fishing clip in the end of every lure video. i did do some fishing videos in the past but they did not really get much attraction, could be that they were just too bad haha.
