I don't think you can avoid trophy gates in this challenge. I started a new f2p challenge during October and even now I am lvl 28 not quite high enough lvl for arena 15 even with lvl 11-13 cards. My best tip for you is to 1. Use a more f2p friendly deck (less rares, in my deck I had 3 commons 2 epics 2 rares and 1 legendary to make sure I was using all my wildcards efficiently) And 2. Try to grind past trophy gate. It may seem daunting but with consistent playing I was able to push from 4k to 5.5k by only getting 5 trophies per game. It's hard but not impossible. Good luck

have you got a legendary wild card in the free pass royale on tier 34? I started a new account as well, but I didn't get a legendary wild card from the chest on tier 30, or a wild card on tier 34
