Good question AKhan! The Standard Test Conditions [STC] refer to the conditions under which the electrical performance of a photo voltaic module [=solar panel] is tested. Therefore, in short, the answer to your question is 'no'. Thumbs up for your critical thinking! Jesse

So efficieny is taken into consideration when solar panels are rated at their wattage? I shouldn't be consistently getting 80watts from my 300 watt system in full sun?

Wow, 80/300 doesn't sound great. Where are you located? What kind of charge controller? What voltage is the panel operated at? Does this correlate with the Vmp as per the panel's spec sticker? Is the wiring sized & installed correctly? You would want to see anywhere in the 200's at peak sun. Good luck! Jesse
