There is no doubt that replacing the hydraulics for the convertible top is an expensive repair so it's nice to see that it has been done by the previous owner! I'm surprised when the new top was installed, that same owner, chose the color black. I would guess that the factory top from when the car was built was parchment/tan. Most top colors match the interior color. The car does have the later style upgraded wheels from the 1994-1997 years. I love that angle of Mary Ann!! You really can see how amazing she looks.

You very well could be right! But I remember like it was yesterday when the 1990 SL was revealed at the Mercedes Benz dealerships and the power folding top would make people stop and stare at traffic lights as people would operate them in public. It was a sight to be held because that was so far ahead of anything that was offered at the time.
