Everyone whines about the maintenance of this vehicle. Yeah if you go to the dealer like a dummy then you will pay a higher cost than you have to, but get an independent MB mechanic shop (a lot of them are run by former MB master techs that decided they would rather have their own shops. ) I have the 2014 S550 and only take to dealer if warranty work , which I havent had yet. But even for simple oil changes I will take to independent MB shop to beuil rapport with them. This way if something major comes along you can trust them and they will prioritize long time clients. 78K Miles on mine so far and smooth sailing, no issues at all. Only thing I really have done is get tires changed , spark plugs, and cooling system preventative maintenance and fluid changes along with transmission fluid maintenance. As long as you dont skip the maintenance then they are great running cars. One thing is for certain is you cannot beat the ride comfort in this price range, you would have to move up to a Bentley or Rolls Royce. Material quality is what you expect in a MB The Premium gas is a must. You dont want to have crappy running issues because you cheaped out on gas. Just put the premium, why play games? If the cost or fuel consumption concerns you then maybe you need to look into a Camry or Prius. You are paying Premium price for a premium ride and comfort. You can save money, but just dont be petty. The bottom line is treat it good and it wont let you down.

@@VdiMusicGaming 7 -series, even the new ones are unreliable, first things to go are electronics. But engine issues plague the 7-series. A while back I was also interested in a 7-series becaus ethe interior was comfortable, but after looking and talking to a couple people who have them I changed my mind because the constant issues the car had. If you plan on getting one then get a full extended warranty (On that car the warranty will be expensive) even if its warrantied, ask yourself if you want to spend time at a dealership all the time. I know I dont. If you want a large sedan I would stick with MB or Lexus LS. I would even go with an Audi A8 over a 7-series.
