It was explained in the video. They did it to squeeze in thebaby's cot. It looks like it would only take an hour or two to put it the 'proper' way and restore the walkway.

This boat had my interest right up until I saw the bed blocking off the stern door. But in all fairness, it doesn't look like it'd be too hard to rip it out and put it back in its proper location.
