The price is way high for this boat, exceeding the 1000 pond per foot level, which used to be a point where you were getting a very upgraded fit out. I realize the market is up, but I believe this boat should be selling for 8000 to 10,000 less. Still, the boat is quite charming, the woodwork is so appealing. I could see painting the sidewall panels with a high quality paint to modernize the boat. I would leave the tongue and groove ceiling and the raised sidewall accents natural, as they would really "pop" against the paint. I would also update the bathroom with a larger shower if I could and a real toilet. I love the crossbed as well! I would tear out the couches in the saloon and update that as well. This boat has much potential.

Nice boat but for the table arrangement at the front , how do you get out on the bow deck with the table set up , room for a dinette anyway near the galley . Also the bed is all wrong if you have to climb over when it's made up . Lots of work to be done by new owner , varnish and paint .
@ellemdee2762 жыл бұрын
The slide-out tabletop & the cubbies concealed by cushions that extend under the foredeck which allows use of the salon settees as single berths remind me of Pacific Seacraft's Dana 24 (a cult classic sailboat designed by Bill Crealock.) That's an excellent design pedigree for this boat if that's where its builders took their inspiration.👍🏻

as a long term job hunter it'll be something along the lines of - "H2O navigation manager" to make it ambiguous, matey and ever so important/difficult so that it can be marketed towards the 'degree required' sector of youngsters being encouraged to stay in education for longer thereby keeping the unemployment figures down. As a short fix alternative to building yet another supermarket populated by degree educated managers but not enough customers. Because the government only has to provide short fixes as every 4 years it becomes someone else's problem.

While I adore the cottage look and feel, I'm not a fan of the salon. It reminds me of an old train car! While the table hide-away is clever, it belongs anywhere there would be no foot traffic. The "dinette couches" are hideous, at best, and ruin any semblance of a comfortable and inviting room. The galley is snug and adequate, I like that. The bath is odd with the angled shower, but I suppose with the long tug bow, you must compromise space throughout the boat...hence the cross bed. As for the engine. Air cooled? I love that it is a Lister, and I'm sure it makes the wonderful "putt putt putt" as it goes along. But I cannot fathom having that engine installed for over 25 years, and not have an overheating problem. I also noted the heavy smoke as it ran down the canal. Engine needs work...and a water jacket! She also needs solar in the worst way, so there would be no reason to run the Lister to charge the batteries. As a project boat, I see so much potential...at the drop of a bank card.

Kinda old. Kinda expensive. But kinda my perfect boat! Edit: but how long will diesel be available/affordable is my main concern
@MrSheckstr2 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure what the alternative would be…. I’ve seen some videos where they have tested alternative power plants and when they ran an all electric boat and ran the numbers, one days cruising (which is really a max of 6-7 hours ) required over 2 days charging, and that doesn’t even include the Hotel load. I DO think the intermediate future is diesel electric with a silenced diesel generator charging the batteries that will run an electric powered propulsion system. That would at least allow the propulsion to be topped off through solar and shore line recharging…. The beauty of diesel electric is it allows for a greater flexibility in designing your layout and deciding where to put what where. A common diesel boat pretty much requires all that stuff be jammed in near the back of the boat but with a diesel electric the only thing that HAS to be back there is the electric motor and prop shaft. Your diesel tank, generator, and battery bank can go pretty much anywhere and what people forget is how much weight and space is used up just to provide this ship with ballast

Well they nearly stopped the use of red diesel on boats but I think thats since been overturned, because that would have been catastrophic! Fuel prices no matter where or how you live are doubling and tripling, how long that will carry on for is anyones guess.
@MsVanorak2 жыл бұрын
these use red diesel don't they - in which case if they stop that then what are farmers going to put in their tractors? there will be plant based equivalents and they are using something along those lines in F1 this season. that aside we have just been shown in ukraine that there really is no need for nations to spend £m's developing nuclear weapons - just bomb the nuclear power station - and our government has just announced that they are going ahead with Sizewell B in Suffolk.

@@MsVanorak Red diesel prices are soaring, from 40p a litre last year to £1.40 now. About 1/3 comes from Russia, so supplies (including heating oil) are looking very precarious.

While it has appeared at first to be an idyllic lifestyle and a cheaper way to live by the numerous vloggers on here which has certainly helped push up the prices, what we are seeing now is that a few are now “jumping ship” (no pun intended) the edge and novelty is certainly on the slide, so give it another year and I think you will see these prices back to somewhere worthy of consideration!

Looks old, and needs lots of work. Water heater looks like an afterthought, but a big fridge. Cassette loo is a no. The bed blocks the exit to the rear deck; you have to climb over the bed. It's dark, too. Engine room is a mess. And no rails on the stern. Overpriced, and with the money you'll have to throw into it? No
