i used to have VHT 2502, and a red limited G system, I'm using providence hand wired velvet comp now. and i'm looking to buy a soldano x99. i was using the VHT GP3 preamp. i think it's the cheapest high gain preamp available . the soldano is really impressive , but very priced.

Cheapest high gain preamp is probably a rocktron piranha or mp1 both my favorites too
