Soldering: do heatsinks work?

.999 fine pure silver has the highest thermal conductivity of all metals (of all natural substances Diamond exceeds even silver. i was just wondering what an ideal heat sink might be for soldering seems like it would be a balance of conducting heat away from sensitive area to be stored in an insulating material like ceramic, or glass. thanks for the videos

You're welcome Joseph, and thanks for watching! Some of the older clip on heat sinks from back in the day were aluminum. They were pretty simple looking. Originally that's what I wanted to make the video about but I couldn't find them anywhere any longer. Thanks for your comment!
