Soldier returns to Georgia to surprise children at their schools

Army Sgt. 1st Class Donnie Hendrick comes home from a year-long deployment to South Korea to surprise his five and eight -year-old daughters at Lakewood Elementary and Primary Schools in Phenix City, Alabama.

Both of my parents are in the military. I can understand the joy in their eyes as they see there loved one right in front of them. I understand what it’s like for a military parent to go off to fight for their county. God bless this family

I am a military brat (and veteran) and these always amaze me because when you live on a military post, EVERYONE'S mom and dad are gone. We all relied on one another for strength. To see these vids where the kids go to school outside of a military installation always interests me.

During our Veterans Day program at my school in Georgia our assistant principal had 2 kids dad come home from South Korea and me and my friend yelled "DID YOU MEET BTS?!" Instead of "BRING OUT THE SUPRISE!"
