I didnt know of this form of respect, but I never thought it as disrespect. I thought maybe the man was very moved and almost fainted. This sign of respect is really touching. It shows humility and vulnerability. Making oneself "lower" to show the understanding and acceptance of Her Majesty The Queen's position. Truly a beautiful gesture. Please don't be quick to judge what you don't understand. Just sitting back and waiting before jumping to a conclusion could save many people from being hurt. Always be Humble and kind💜

@Away Down South In Dixie I hope you're not serious... There are 3 forms of life on our planet: plants, animals, and humans. Of these 3, humans have the least differences. We all have a head, arms, legs, breathe oxygen, etc. Animals, however are very different with several classifications (birds, reptiles, mammals, fish, etc.). Anyway... what kills is hatred and isolation. Love and acceptance is what makes us flourish.

Some context: The soldier in question is a Fijian sergeant fighting as a member of the commonwealth. In Fijian culture, it is common for a person to sit down as a sign of respect (you see this in their rugby games). The queen (being head of the commonwealth) understood this and this is why she smiled afterwards and acknowledged the Sergeants action. He didn’t mean for disrespect as many of those in the comments have misunderstood.

That's right. Fijian soldiers are fearless. AND they have a great sense of humour and are some of the kindest souls you will meet. Behind the uniform they are just simple boys who are down to earth and humble. The simple things in life make them happy - family and God and of course they will respect the Queen and everybody else; they are just nice easygoing guys.
