Come exercise with Miss Madie and Miss Rachelle as we march, dance, and act like soldiers! And learn a fun game to play with your friends too! All songs are well over 100 years old, and very fun to sing and dance to.

Lyrics:
RATAPLAN:
March like Galant soldiers, rataplan, rataplan, rataplan, plan, plan
Boldly forwards man for men; march like gallant soldiers.
(Chorus) Rrrr, rataplan, how our plumes are dancing; rataplan, and our war steeds prancing!
March like gallant soldiers, rataplan, rataplan, rataplan, plan, plan
Fred is captain we'll obey, and we'll drill like soldiers.
(Chorus)
March like gallant soldiers, rataplan, rataplan, rataplan, plan, plan
Take good heed, keep step all day; Marching boldly onwards.
(Chorus)
See our sabres glancing; rataplan, rataplan, rataplan,
rataplan, rataplan, plan, plan, rataplan rataplan, plan, plan!
See our sabres glancing, rataplan rataplan, rataplan!
MARCHING EXERCISE:
Left foot first, and then the right, what a pretty charming sight! Heads erect and hands on hips, sparkling eyes and rosy lips.
Now on one foot we can hop, one, two, three, four, five, six, stop!
Backward turn and do the same, how we love this merry game.
Now with dainty step we run, just on tiptoe oh, what fun!
Faster, faster, faster still, gently too yet with a will.
Slower now with quiet pace, do not turn aside your face
outward pointing with your toes, now we'll march in two straight rows.
Tra lala...
SOLDIER, SOLDIER WILL YOU MARRY ME?:
Soldier, soldier, will you marry me, with a knapsack, fife, and drum?
Oh no my pretty maiden, I cannot marry you, for I have no coat to put on.
Then away she ran to the tailors shop, as fast as legs could run; and brought him one of the very best, and the soldier put it on.
Repeat as many times as you would like, replacing coat with other household items. The last time you sing it, the soldier replies:
Oh no, my pretty maiden, I cannot marry you, for I have a good wife at home!"
