What a man! 15mins of watching this video and I am compelled to comment before I finish it. The whole time in my mind the name was echoing in my brain, I have heard his name before, when I was a young boy, at Madrasah. Why can't I remember? Then the narrator mentions the Battle of Ahzab (trench) and it flooded back to me, he was the one to suggest the trenches! Alhamdullilah, I had no idea until now, this man had such an interesting back story, I knew he wasn't of Makkah or Madini as his name indicates, but always assumed he must have just been a traveller or merchant type who settled and accepted Islam. But knowing everything he went through to seek the truth, such an inspiration for us all, if he can do that, we have it easy.

So Salman Al Farsi RA was pretty much a true believer in one God for most of his life, because he was fortunate to have had 4 master teachers (each more pious than the last one) and he was among the last of the true Christians alive, to eventually becoming a Sahaba of Sayidna Muhammad pbuh. He lived a good clean life...

So here is the issue that needs to be clarified:Many people use the abbreviation “SAW,” “SAWS,” or “PBUH” to fulfill this obligation in their writing. Is this something that fulfills the obligation of sending the salaah and salaam on the Messenger? Let us look now to some of the statements of the scholars regarding this practice. The Permanent Committee of Scholars in Saudi Arabia headed by ‘Abdul-‘Azeez ibn ‘Abdillaah ibn Baaz issued the following verdict when asked about the validity of abbreviating the salaah on the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam): “The Sunnah is to write the entire phrase “sallallaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam,” since it is a kind of supplication, and supplication is worship, (in one’s writing) just as it is in one’s speech. So to abbreviate it using the letter SAAD or the word SAAD-LAAM-‘AYN-MEEM is not a supplication nor is it worship, whether it occurs in speech or writing. For this reason, this abbreviation was not used by the the first three generations, those that the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) testified to their goodness.” [8] “SAAD” and “SAAD-LAAM-‘AYN-MEEM” are often used in some Arabic books. The English equivalents of these abbreviations would be: SAW, SAWS, SAAWS, PBUH, and the likes. Al-Fayrooz-Abaadee said, “It is not appropriate to use symbols or abbreviations to refer to salaah and salaam, as some of the lazy ones do, as well as some ignorant people and even some students of knowledge - they write ‘SAAD-LAAM-‘AYN-MEEM’ instead of writing ‘sallallaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam.'” [9] Ahmad Shaakir said, “It is the absurd tradition of some of the later generations that they abbreviate the writing of ‘sallallaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam.'” [10] Wasee Allaah ‘Abbaas said, “It is not permissible to abbreviate the salaams in general in one’s writing, just as it is not permissible to abbreviate the salaah and salaam on the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam). It is also not permissible to abbreviate either of these in one’s speech.” [11] And Allaah knows best. May the most perfect and complete salaah and salaam be upon our beloved Messenger, and upon his noble family and companions. FOOTNOTES [1] written by Moosaa Richardson

Great Companion of Muhammad (s.w.s) and Imam Ali (a.s)
@sawedoffshoddy94886 жыл бұрын
raja Azhar it was the best generation. Every companion RA brought something different and special to the service of ALLAH subhana Hua ta alla and Sayyidna Muhammad sul la ALLAH al layhi wa salam. Each companion RA contributed what they could to Islam. Some gave their lives, some gave their wealth, some gave their knowledge, some gave their strength, and courage on the battlefield, some gave their families. It was the combination of their contributions in complete submission to ALLAH subhana Hua ta alla that made them the best of generations. When they were united they were unstoppable by ALLAHs permission and mercy. Now when Muslims are no longer united look what has happened to us across the globe. The value of believers blood has become cheap and we have become weak. Only when we are united as one Ummah freed of sects and nationalism will we rise by the blessing of ALLAH. Sallahudin raheema ALLAH spent more time fighting Muslims to unite then then He spent fighting the crusaders. The 5 pillars of Islam give us more similarities than differences. This is the reason the Jews are so powerful even though they are weak in numbers they stick together like Muslims are supposed to stick together.

I know i'm kind of late, but I just want to say that there is something truly admirable about this man. He went beyond the concepts of culture and traditions to seek the one thing that trumps all of that : truth. Otherwise, he would have never embarked on his quest. This is something so many people nowadays refuse to do when they hold on to their beliefs simply because they're the popular ones in their culture.

Here are 21 tips from our Prophet (SAWS) to help you erase your sins : 1) Repenting Allah says : "O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, if your sins reached the clouds of the sky and if you then ask forgiveness of Me, I will forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great as it." [Hadith Qudsi] 2) Performing Prayer The Prophet (SAWS) said :"When the time for a prayer comes, if any muslim performs ablution well and offers his prayer with humility and bowing, it will be an expiation for his past sins, so long as he has not committed a major sin; and this applies to for all times." [ Muslim ] 3) Performing Wudhu (ablution) The Prophet (SAWS) said :"He who performed ablution well, his sins would come out from his body, even coming out from under his nails." [ Sahih Muslim ] 4) Attending the Jumu'ah Salah (Friday Prayer) The Prophet (SAWS) said :"The five prayers and from one Friday prayer to (the next) Friday prayer is an expiation (of the sins committed in between their intervals) if major sins are not committed." [ Sahih Muslim ]. "Whoever takes a bath on Friday, purifies himself as much as he can, then uses his (hair) oil or perfumes himself with the scent of his house, then proceeds (for Jumua prayer) and does not separate two persons sitting together (in the mosque), then prays as much as (Allah has) written for him and then remains silent while the Imam is delivering the Khutba, his sins in-between the present and the last Friday would be forgiven." [ Sahih Al-Bukhari ] 5) Waiting for Prayer Messenger of Allah (SAWS) asked : "Shall I not tell you of something by means of which Allah erases sins and raises you in status?". They said :"Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He (saws) said : "Doing wudoo' well even when it is difficult, taking many steps to the mosques and waiting for praying after prayer. That is (equivalent) to guarding the frontier." [ Muslim ] 6) Doing good deeds Do more good deeds because Allah said :" Verily, the good deeds remove the evil deeds (small sins)." [ Quran : 11 verse 114 ] 7) Performing Umrah and Hajj The Prophet (SAWS) said :"Whoever performs Hajj for Allah's pleasure and does not have sexual relations with his wife, and does not do evil or sins then he will return (after Hajj free from all sins) as if he were born anew." [ Sahih Al-Bukhari ] "The performance of Umra is an expiation for the sins committed (between it and the previous one). And the reward of Hajj Mabrur (the one accepted by Allah) is nothing except Paradise." [ Sahih Al-Bukhari ] 8) Saying 'Ameen' after the Imam The Prophet (SAWS) said :"When the Imam says 'Ameen', you should all say 'Ameen' at that time, and he whose 'Ameen' coincides with the 'Ameen' of the angels, all his past sins will be forgiven." [ Bukhari ] 9) Calling out Adhaan The Prophet (SAWS) said :"The muadhin (the one who call out the prayer) will receive forgiveness to the extent to which his voice reaches, and every moist and dry place will testify on his behalf; and he who attends (the congregation of) prayer will have 25 prayers recorded for him." [ Aby Dawud ] 10) Walking to the Prayer Place The Prophet (SAWS) said :"If he performs ablution completely and then goes to the mosque with the sole intention of perfoming the prayer, and nothing urges him to proceed to the mosque except the prayer, then on every step which he takes towards the mosque, he will be raised one degree or one of his sins will be forgiven. The angels will keep on asking Allah's forgiveness and blessings for everyone of you so long as he keeps sitting at his praying place. The angels will say, 'O Allah, bless him! O Allah, be merciful to him!' as long as he does not do a thing which gives trouble to others." [ Bukhari ] 11) Giving charity The Prophet (SAWS) said :"The charity erases the bad deed like the water puts out the fire."
